Joining Forces:

Leveraging the Strengths of Nonprofit Networks

For over 10 years, TCC Group has worked on the front lines of the nonprofit capacity-building movement, designing, implementing, and evaluating numerous initiatives, including many projects for associations and networks.

Recently, TCC helped build the evaluation capacity of EnvironMentors, a program that prepares high school students from underrepresented backgrounds for college degrees in environmental science. TCC assisted eight chapters of the organization in identifying measures of success and helped EnvironMentors take its programs to scale. We also analyzed how financial support at universities, high schools, and among donors could be replicated across sites. Read more about the lessons learned from our work with nonprofit networks and associations here.
Building Arts Organizations that Build Audiences

Wallace FoundationLast year, TCC Group worked with The Wallace Foundation to design the content for their conference, "Building Audiences: Sustaining What Works." This event identified the most effective methods for growing audiences and explored strategies to support those practices. Wallace brought together leadership, programmatic, and marketing representatives from the 54 recipients of the Wallace Excellence Awards, a grant program to help build participation in the arts.

This was the third grantee conference that TCC planned with the foundation, collaborating with researchers and experts in nonprofit management, marketing, and communications.  Focusing on sustainability, participants worked together to share success stories and inform future audience-building efforts. A new report from the conference found that ongoing learning and adaptation are crucial to the process of developing audiences. Read the report here.

Through our work, we have gathered a significant amount of data and research that shed light on what works when it comes to nonprofit organizational learning. TCC Group Senior Partner Peter York will present the keynote speech on capacity building at the Arizona Evaluation Network's Spring Conference on May 9. Find more information here.
