THE WINNER'S CIRCLE

Indianapolis Chapter CSI Newsletter

 June 2012

winners circle skyline
Greetings!

Does anyone know a good rain dance?  Or have some magic beans to make it rain?  We are drying out!

We are in the midst of summer, while many people have gone on vacation, your Indianapolis Chapter is still hard at work trying to make this the best chapter it can be.  Of course, with the Awards Banquet being tonight to reward that hard work.

A couple things to note in this issue:  Baseball Outing, Trade Show registration, and all the other good stuff you normally look out for.

As always, please send comments, articles and suggestions to me as they may come up.

new info

Whether you are writing or presenting, it is always best to know your audience.  I have for the last eleven months offered a Starbuck's Gift Card as an enticement to learn the make up of my audience.  The information to win the card was not easily available, but actually secluded away in the very last paragraph of this article each month.  To earn the card one had to weather through to the end.  It wasn't rocket science and the result could have been expected; you, dear reader, are a current CSI Leader.  So what, in my last article as President do I have to say once I know my audience?

All but one or two of you are Past Presidents.  There is nothing this humble author can solicit in the way of advice on things CSI, but I can thank each and every one of you for your support in the last year.  It has been very rewarding to serve the Chapter Membership, especially when there is such a 'yes' attitude when a volunteer endeavor is requested and answered quickly.  Indianapolis CSI is known for excellent volunteerism with a 'get it done' attitude around the country, and I have found this to be particularly true over the last year.  I wish there was some way all this spirited volunteer effort could be rewarded.  Oh wait, there is!  Let's have an Award's Banquet!

June 21st is our annual award's banquet and will be held at the Skyline Club on the 36th floor of the One America Building again this year.  The festivities will be in a completely enclosed banquet hall so no outside noise will distract.  A brand new sound system is employed and should make all who attend able to hear every word of appreciation spoken.  Check farther down in the Newsletter to see how you can reserve your night for a fine meal, CSI camaraderie, and join in congratulating all those who have made the last year great with their volunteer efforts.

I look forward to the coming year.  Indy CSI is going to be steered with capable hands by incoming President Andy McIntyre.  A slate of interesting presentations are already in place; I am particularly looking forward to the 'Super Bowl Recap, Lessons Learned' that is scheduled for next month at The Riverwalk Banquet Center.

The last year sped by incredibly fast and I wish there had been more hours in the day so I could have prompted more adaptation to the ever-changing technical revolution in which all organizations are currently immersed.  The existing and future leadership of CSI Indy is youthful and aware of these changes; I feel we are on a good track for our 2nd fifty years.  I ask the membership to adapt, accept and embrace change, for as the well-known humorist of the last century Will Rogers was known to say, "Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there."

There is no Starbuck's Gift Card secret email title this month.  There is already a winner for June.  But if you have made it once again to the last paragraph I ask for a big 'thumb's up' during the last Gift Card presentation at the award's banquet.  It has been a lot of fun watching our 'group in the know' grow over the months.  Thanks CSI Indy.  The past year was a great experience.

Table Tops

Jeremy Hoffman

Indianapolis Chapter CSI

The Indianapolis Chapter of CSI is accepting reservations for Table Tops for upcoming Chapter meetings.  The list of programs for upcoming Chapter meetings is published in this newsletter, the web site, or contact Program chairman Andy McIntyre, so if you would like to target a particular meeting, make sure to get your reservation in early.  We do have a limit of four spaces available for Table Tops in a standard meeting room and 10 if we have a double room.

Table Tops are an opportunity to promote your company, products, or services to all attendees of our regular chapter meeting during the social hour.  There is a maximum of 20 minutes for Table Top presentation at a regular Chapter meeting.  You have the floor for maximum of five minutes during the dinner to communicate to the entire group if there are four presenters. If there is a greater demand, the 20 minutes will be divided by the number of presenters and rounded down to the nearest 30 seconds.

The Table Top presentations are FREE, one time, to new members, and cost current Indianapolis Chapter members only $75.  Non-members get the same opportunity for $125.  A 30 by 60 table with a cover and skit will be included.  All proceeds go to support the Chapter.

Another opportunity for a Table Top is during an Education Seminar.  The cost is if you combine it with the Chapter meeting and Education Seminar the cost would be $100 for current members and $150 for non-members.

If you would like to schedule a Table Top for a future meeting or seminar, contact:
