Is Department of State Blackmailing Iranian MEK?

In an "on-the-record conference call" with journalist, officials from the State Department, Coordinator for Counterterrorism Ambassador Daniel Benjamin and Special Advisor to the Secretary on Camp Ashraf Ambassador Daniel Fried, pressed members of the Iranian opposition movement living in Camp Ashraf to leave the camp and move to Camp Liberty in Baghdad in order for the Secretary of State Clinton to 'possibly' remove the name of the organization, Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK/PMOI) from the Foreign Terrorist Organizations list of the Department. They complained that there has been no relocation since May 4, 2012, when the last group of 400 dissidents left Ashraf for Camp Liberty. Read On... |

State Department's Coercing Ashraf Residents

The International Solidarity for Democratic Change in Iran (ISDCI) denounces pressuring the Iranian opposition and the residents of Camps Ashraf into giving up minimum humanitarian life support requirements and relocating to Camp Liberty in return for possible delisting of the main Iranian opposition movement, the Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK). Some 2,000 Ashraf residents have already relocated to Camp Liberty, where the living conditions are inhumane. The Camp has no running water and it must be delivered on a daily basis by tankers.
