Kelley's Corner
2011 was an amazing year! With the help of our wonderful volunteers, our donors and a collaborative effort from the community, we assisted 843 families (over 2,000 individuals) with over $126,000 worth of services. These services included: financial aid, clothes, food, toiletries and household products. (Thank you United Way Gifts In Kind!) What a blessing it is to be able to help those in need!
With the continued struggling economy, the number of families that need assistance will surely multiply! It is our hope that with the support of our community, we will be able to reach all of those in need and help them stabilize through these trying times.
We also celebrated the graduation of 35 Adult Education students, offered Mandarin Chinese Language classes and held our first Dinner Tour to raise money for the Center. It was a great success, but as one year passes we begin planning for the next. Stay connected to UFRC's website and Facebook page for more fun and exciting learning opportunities this summer.
This year we are excited to present the First Ever UDDERLY AMAZING HULLABALOO on Saturday, April 28th. We hope that this will not only be a great fundraiser for us, but a way to bring our community together for a day of fun and fellowship. There will be a car show, BBQ and concessions, inflatables for kids and adults, music, a dunking booth to dunk your favorite community leaders (Right Mr. Gordon?) and of course our famous COW PATTIE BINGO! Stay tuned to our website for an event schedule.
As always your financial support is key to our Center's success. We can't do it without you. If you are not already a donor, go to our website and make a secure donation today. At a time when it's hard to get a good return on your investment we're the best deal in town.
Thanks for all of your support!
-Kelley
