The Press from the Pitch -Supplemental Edition

Greetings!

We hope you had a chance to read our Fall Newsletter that was sent to you in early September.  This is a supplemental edition that includes our Philadelphia Union Soccer Night, our new online soccer store and a report from the Travel Program of CBAA Soccer!

This has really been a fun, exciting and busy time for our newly formed soccer committee!  The Reintegration of the CBAA Soccer Programs helped energize new volunteers to come forward and serve on various committees and new endeavors.  A real sense of community is upon us.  I am amazed and proud to see that there is more action around us than just our players on the soccer fields!   Here are just a few highlights..............

  • Drive into Herbst on a Saturday morning and pop by the "Snack Shed" for a variety of healthy snacks, beverages and some treats and snacks.  While you're there- check out the hoodies and bags that are available!
  • As announced in the CBAA Court and Field Report this past Sunday, CBAA Soccer has a new online store full of great merchandise for the player and the fan of both travel and intramural soccer!
  •  Weekly Keeper Sessions are happening for our U11-U14 Goalies with CB East Senior, Jake Nesteruk.  We've also had 2 Keeper Clinics for all ages this Fall.  The training is receiving rave reviews and it shows by the attendance!
  • A record number journeyed to PPL Park on July 29th!  Take a look at the pictures from our Union Club Night Below!

Thank you to all of you that have given your time, energy & talents to our kids at CBAA Soccer - We are all making a difference. Your suggestions and feedback are being heard!  Scroll down below and see what's happeing here at your Club!

If there is something you'd like ot see improved or introduced... just let us know... and help us make it happen!

Sincerely,

Becky Barlow

CBAA / Buckingham United Travel Soccer Fall Season is well under way with over 500 Girls and Boys participating on 31 teams plus our U7 & 8 Youth Academy program.

We have teams playing in 4 very competitive Eastern Pennsylvania leagues

  • ICSL (Inter County S L),
  • DELCO S L,
  • PAGS (Philadelphia Area Girls S L)
  • expanded into the Highly competitive Regional E D P (Eastern Development Program ) with our Club acceptance into the league this year and our first team (B U Wave) participating.

We hope to have more teams participate in this top level league next year. Most all our teams got their season started playing in late summer and Labor Day Tournaments throughout the tri state area. They are now into week 4 of their local league play and many of them looking forward fun Columbus Weekend tournaments where some teams will travel to a destination tournaments such as the annual Cape May Express tournament (Held throughout the S NJ Shore Towns) for a fun weekend of soccer, board walk and Beach activities. Another example of combining Soccer with fun team activities is the Labor Day Pocono White Water Tournament where our U12 Girls B U Fury not only had fun winning the Tournament but also participated in the White Water rafting portion of the weekend and had a great time.

We'll look forward to hearing from all our teams about their Fall Seasons and Columbus weekend tournaments for our next update.

Good Luck to all our Teams and Players this fall and as always remember to Respect the Game, Teammates, Coaches and Referees... and in addition to respect...Thank your parents!!

UnionA Night at the Union!

CBAA / Buckingham United Soccer Enjoy another Successful and Fun Club Night at the Philadelphia Union

On Sunday July 29th we had our annual Club Night at the Union. The game was well Club Night July 29th attended with over 140 Attendees from the CBAA. We had beautiful weather for our pre game Club Cook-out where we set several canopy's etc on the lovely large lawn promenade directly adjacent the Stadium. The adults relaxed enjoying their Food & Drinks while kids played ball on the lawn and visited the Interactive area by the Stadium.... And yes we did feed the Kids as well. Glad to report this year our Club pre game party was also very well attended and was fun to see a bunch of teams attending and socializing with fellow club members. Special thanks go out to the Banshee parents who went down several hours early and got things all set up for a rather large group. We had several U14 Players that served as Ball Kids during the game!    Go CBAA... Go Union!!!

The game turned out to be a great one. In another exciting finish at PPL Park, the Philadelphia Union came back from an early deficit to defeat the New England Revolution by a score of 2-1 in front of a sell-out crowd. The Union fell behind on Saer Sene's 12th-minute goal, but a Freddy Adu penalty kick in the 59th minute and a Jack McInerney header just before stoppage time gave the home team the win and three important points in the conference standings. It was particularly great to see a young (19 yrs) USA born and raised player score the winning goal.

A great time was had by all and we hope to see even more of our members next year.
