 BUSC Blast
The Buckingham Blast u-12 Boys have had a tremendous spring season. Competing in Division 1 in the Delco Soccer League, and playing in six Eastern Pennsylvania State Challenge Cup games, has been a great experience for the boys. At the beginning of the Challenge Cup competition, the Blast set a goal of playing in 6 games (3 qualifying matches, 2 playoff matches, and 1 championship match), and that's exactly what they did. Along the way, they defeated Penn Legacy, Greater Chester Valley, Wyoming Valley, West Chester, and PA Classics. The team faced a strong opponent from Harleysville in the Championship match, and competed with tremendous determination. The game was tied 1-1 as they entered the second half. Despite a great amount of offensive pressure from the Blast, Harleysville was able to defend and score a second goal with less than 8 minutes left in the game. When the final whistle sounded, the Blast had been defeated on the scoreboard (2-1), but showed all who were watching that they could compete like champions. In the end, the boys of the Blast can hold their heads high and feel confident knowing they represented the Buckingham United Soccer Club with the grit and fortitude that has defined this talented young team.
