When are tryouts?
BUSC holds tryouts beginning in April for the Following Seasonal Year. What are the Dates of tryouts for this year?The dates will be announced on our Tryout Information Page on our website. Once you register, we will send out notices of tryouts to you. You may also sign up for email reminders prior to registering. Do you need to register or sign up for tryouts?
Yes, we will post a registration with a simple form to fill out online. The form can be found on the Registration and HOME Pages" as well the link above. You may also register in person on the first night of tryouts, but it will save you time online and also helps us prepare. What age does Buckingham United begin?
U9 is our youngest age bracket. However, we do have an academy that runs 3 separate seasons for U7 and U8. It's an introduction into travel in a fun and creative learning environment. This program is open to all age appropriate players and there are no tryouts.
What are the age brackets?Be sure to choose your age bracket for the Fall 2012 Click here for the EPYSA Age Brackets Is there a fee to tryout?No, there are no fees associated with tryouts. Money would not be due until you have been offered a roster spot on a team. Who tries out?All existing BU players must be evaluated each year, along with any new players wishing to play on a BU team. What is a typical tryout like?Players will typically scrimmage and play small-sided games while evaluators and coaches observe. How long will try outs be?Players are evaluated on 2 separate nights, typically 2 hours long What should a player bring to tryouts?
- Bring a water bottle, wear shin guards, and bring a pumped-correct size ball
- We ask that players come in "club neutral" attire.
- We'll supply each player with a "number" to pin to their shorts for identification purposes.
Can parents stay and watch the tryouts?Absolutely! But we do ask that you stay invisible, no cheering or coaching from the sidelines. This is in the best interest of your child. Players become confused when they recieve instructions from a coach that differs from what someone may be saying on the sidelines.
When do players hear if they made a team?
We are committed to offering roster spots within 2 weeks of the last tryout evening. Coaches will email or call the players.
We have a schedule conflict, can I make other arrangements for my child to be seen?
Yes, we can accommodate, please email us and let us know the age group.
What is the time commitment for Travel Soccer?
Travel Soccer is a year long commitment. While CBAA recognizes Multi-Sport Athletes, the Travel Soccer Primary Seasons are Fall and Spring. Practices are 2 nights a week in the Fall and Spring. Games and tournaments are on the weekends. [ more info can be found on our website]
When Does the Season begin in the Fall?
Training begins typically in August - Team Camps are usually run begriming the 2nd week in August. 1st tournament and games typically are the first week in September.
