CBAA Basketball Update
The CBAA Board would like to thank its players, parents and the whole community at large for showing up in record numbers this year for our Coaches vs. Cancer Fund Raiser. This year the event meant more then ever due to the recent loss of one our own players to this awful disease. Thank you. All funds from the event will go to Team Morgan and the Morgan Mysza scholarship.
This year our basketball program has been hit hard by the closing of the Holicong Middle School Gym due to a water pipe break. It has impacted over 36 teams who practice at Holicong and 20 teams who play at Holicong as well. We've had to cancel practices at many other schools and put a priority in playing the games. DAA, the YMCA and even the New Hope School District have offered up and we've taken on their gym time in order to play the games. We have taken them up on their offers and are now playing games on the weekends in those gyms.
CBAA takes great pride in being the only intramural program that in a normal year offers weekly practice to all of its teams. We are saddened by the fact that we cannot accommodate all of our teams this year due to the closing of the Holicong gym. We hope to have the gym back in play in early March. As soon as it is we will resume with our normal practice schedule for all teams. We appreciate your support and understanding as we deal with this great challenge.
This spring as in the past years, CBAA will hold skills and drills for Boys and Girls in Grades 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. There is no fee to attend these sessions and this year more then ever we hope that everyone takes advantage of it given our lack of practice times. Dates and times will be communicated soon.
Lastly, this weekend we will hold our Annual Pizzeria Uno Chicago Grill fundraiser at the Uno's on route 611 in Doylestown. 20% of all purchases made by CBAA Members or anyone that turns in a coupon that you can find on line, will be donated to CBAA Basketball. These funds will go towards our programs expenses which include equipment, gym time, insurance, our jr. ref program and more.
Thank you everyone for your support of the Coaches vs. Cancer event and with our recent challenges with practices and gym time.
Sincerely,
Manny Garcia and the CBAA Basketball Board |
The CBAA TOPSoccer program for special needs athletes concludes its winter season on Sunday, Feb. 19. We would like to thank the Central Bucks Family YMCA and, especially, Brooke Johnston, the associate director of the Y's special needs programs, for giving us a home for our winter sessions. We are delighted to partner with the Y to help build awareness among our members for the year-round athletic activities that are available for special needs families in our community.
Registration for CBAA TOPSoccer's spring 2012 season will begin in March. Please be sure to check our website for more information. |

Intramural Soccer Update
Dear Parents,
We hope your child is excited about the upcoming IM spring soccer season. We are currently in the process of forming teams and assigning coaches to teams. In the near future you will be contacted, either directly or through your team coach, with more information.
Late registration is now available. Late registration does not guarantee a position on a roster, but we will do everything we can to accommodate late registrants. If we are unable to place your child, a full refund of fees will be provided to you.
If you have volunteered to coach look for information soon on exciting pre-season clinics for all age groups.
Again, thank-you for your patience - we are looking forward to a great spring season!

A Special Note to Parents: The CBAA Buckingham United U7/U8 Academy is intended to be a supplement to your child's existing soccer team, and players are strongly encouraged to participate in the CBAA Spring Intramural Soccer season.
