Dulaya Memories in Art is a family owned

business.  Their humble beginning was truly a labor of love after the loss of their oldest sister, Susie.  A work of art called "Reunion" deeply touched and comforted them.  Out of desire to share this comfort, they were inspired to create an opportunity for others to express love and hope by giving Dulaya Memories in Art.

Dulaya Memories is an inspirational art supplier, providing not only a compliment to flowers given at the time of a loved one's passing, but also beautiful gifts for any occasion.   Each print is beautifully framed and ready to hang, complete with a dedication label on the back.

Online Safety

Between home, work, and volunteer responsibilities we have many online passwords and security questions to remember.  Scott Montgomery, from Open Systems Technologies recently shared a few safety tips that will make this monumental job easier.

First, use the same password, but use an identifier in the beginning or end.  Last quarter we used the strong password example BluSk!sTdy (Blue Skies Today).  Using this tip, passwords would look like:

BluSk!sTdygmail
BluSk!sTdywork
BluSk!sTdybank
BluSk!sTdytwitter

BluSk!sTdyblog
BluSk!sTdyfacebook
BluSk!sTdyhabitat
BluSk!sTdyrotary

Next, just about all websites that you log into have security questions to help identify who you are.  Unfortunately, your answers to these questions can probably be found in your social media profiles.  So how do you protect yourself?  Lie.  Criminals don't feel bad when they steal your identity, so it is time to outsmart the bad guys.

How do you remember a fake security question answer?   Decide on a word you will always use, such as "green".  Then take the keyword in the question and attach your word to it.  See the samples below:
  •  I was born in what city?
     Answer:  citygreen

  • What was the name of my first pet?
    Answer:  petgreen

  • What is my mother's maiden name?
    Answer:  maidennamegreen

  • What is your favorite sport?
    Answer:  sportgreen

Here are additional tips from Microsoft on keeping your passwords secret.

Do you have questions about banking related topics?  Chances are your peers have the same questions.  Submit your questions to Business Development and we will post a few Questions & Answers here each quarter.

Question:
Can I combine 401 (K) plans from different employers?

Answer:

Some plans do allow prior plan dollars to be added, but not often.  By opening up an IRA at LCBT and rolling over your old 401 (K) plan dollars you have more control over your investment choices.  In addition you will have more flexibility without incurring any taxes during the transfer.  For additional information contact our Wealth Management Group at 810-245-2946.

Just for Fun

How much money is printed each day? The Bureau of Engraving and Printing produces 38 million notes a day with a face value of approximately $541 million. That doesn't mean there is $541 million more money circulating today than there was yesterday, though, because 95% of the notes printed each year are used to replace notes already in circulation.

How many pennies were made in 1998? There were more than 10 billion pennies made in 1998. The actual number of coins produced, by denomination, was as follows: pennies, 10,257,400,000; nickels, 1,323,672,000; dimes, 2,335,300,000; quarters, 1,867,400,000; half-dollars, 30,710,000.

Three animals were having a drink in a cafe, when the owner asked for the money. "I'm not paying," said the duck. "I've only got one bill and I'm not breaking it." "I've spent my last buck," said the deer. "Then the duck'll have to pay," said the skunk. "Getting here cost me my last scent."

Notice of Changes in Temporary Insurance Coverage for Transaction Accounts

All funds in a "noninterest-bearing transaction account" are insured in full by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation from December 31, 2010, through December 31, 2012. This temporary unlimited coverage is in addition to, and separate from, the coverage of at least $250,000 available to depositors under the FDIC's general deposit insurance rules.

The term "noninterest-bearing transaction account" includes a traditional checking account or demand deposit account on which the insured depository institution pays no interest. It does not include other accounts, such as traditional checking or demand deposit accounts that may earn interest, NOW accounts, money-market deposit accounts, and Interest on Lawyers Trust Accounts ("IOLTAs").

For more information about temporary FDIC insurance coverage of transaction accounts, visit www.fdic.gov.
