NEW EXHIBIT!
September 29, 2012 - December 30, 2012 Carpenter Hall | |
This hands-on exhibit was developed by the Space Science Institute. Future astronomers will learn the origins of our solar system and how comets, asteroids and meteors played an important role in the Earth's development. Touch a space rock! Learn to identify meteorites. Determine the odds of a species-ending impact, similar to what contributed to the death of the dinosaurs, happening in your lifetime.
Local teens on CSC's Student Asteroid Team participated in the multi-year exhibit development process with the Space Science Institute in Colorado.
Great Balls of Fire is sponsored by Catawba Valley Medical Center, CommScope, Frye Regional Medical Center. von Drehle Corporation, Drillers Service Inc., Shurtape and TSH Foundation.

Partners in Science are area businesses and organizations that provide essential support for CSC education programs. Support from these businesses help CSC keep program fees as low as possible for community schools. Partners in Science "adopt" a program area of their choice by making a pledge of $1,000 or more, payable at any time during the school year. Partners in Science are recognized in an issue of CSC's Imprints in Science e-newsletter, on CSC's website and donor board for one year, in the Teachers Program Guide distributed to every teacher in eight local school systems and to every school in another eight outlying systems each year.
The 2012-13 Partners in Science campaign is now underway. Are you interested in supporting CSC's hands-on science education programs for schools? Please contact us at 322-8169, x-313. |
SUPPORTING MEMBERS A special thank you to the 2011-12 Supporting Members who helped change lives and inspire learning through science and wonder this year by making an additional tax-deductible donation as part of their 2011-12 membership dues. |
