"Possible Dreams" 2012 Was Biggest Ever |
Monday's community conversation, dubbed "Bridge to Bridge and Beyond," was a huge success in turnout, diversity, and energy. More than 130 people shared their ideas, including more than 25 newer residents and the strongest ever representation of Haverhill's growing Latino community. See the article below for our Preliminary Report and a fast-growing list of Emerging Ideas flowing in since Monday! The conversation will continue on February 13, 7 pm, at the auditorium of Haverhill Public Library. This is Team Haverhill's February meeting, where we debrief Possible Dreams and look for ideas with "legs." You are invited! Any questions? Click HERE. |

Five Key Messages from Possible Dreams |
Here are top findings from the Preliminary Report: (1) Link up two big Haverhill assets--"culture" and "agriculture." This was a new and promising idea at this year's event. (2) Create new downtown venues for arts, culture and recreation. (3) Work on "curb appeal"--make this area attractive, clean, unified and connected. (4) Make it family-friendly. And (5) Create a unified marketing plan, communicating a coherent identity for Haverhill's "Bridge to Bridge" area. (To download Preliminary Report and Emerging Ideas, see article just above.)

| Wizard of Oz Gala/Auction--Save May 19! |
The date is set for the "Wizard of Oz" Gala and Auction--Saturday evening, May 19. at the Roma. Members of Spotlight Playhouse will be circulating "in character." This event will help pay for first-class lighting for Haverhill's newest monument--the Essex Street Gateway Community Mural, to go on the wall of 25 Essex Street this May. Watch for a whole calendar of rollout events. And consider donating a fabulous (and perhaps high-value) auction item! Event registration will go live soon.
