Yesterday, Rep. Sarah Peake of Provincetown, House Chair of the Joint Committee on Tourism, Arts, and Cultural Development, filed Amendment 417 to hold cultural funding at this year's level of $9.1 million. The amendment would reverse a proposed $1.6 million cut to MCC's budget contained in the House Ways & Means Committee's version of the state budget for fiscal year 2012.The Peake amendment was cosponsored by 45 State Representatives from across the Commonwealth-representing communities large and small, urban, suburban, and rural. Please consider calling your Representative over the next week to urge support for Amendment # 417.
