You Can Help Secure Level Arts Funding |
Yesterday, Rep. Sarah Peake of Provincetown, House Chair of the Joint Committee on Tourism, Arts, and Cultural Development, filed Amendment 417 to hold cultural funding at this year's level of $9.1 million. The amendment would reverse a proposed $1.6 million cut to MCC's budget contained in the House Ways & Means Committee's version of the state budget for fiscal year 2012.The Peake amendment was cosponsored by 45 State Representatives from across the Commonwealth-representing communities large and small, urban, suburban, and rural. Please consider calling your Representative over the next week to urge support for Amendment # 417. |
Team Haverhill to Assist City Clean-Up | Haverhill's City-Wide Clean-Up Day is Saturday, April 30. If you would like to join with a Team Haverhill crew, you can either meet up with the group at the Citizen Center at 8:30 am, or go directly to Winnekenni Park tennis courts at 9 am. Jeff Grassie and Lisa Marzilli will snag lots of trash and composting bags at the citizens center. Bring your own gloves, rakes, water bottle, and a good back! Smiles for a group photo too! Info |
