Dear Sustainable Eiber Neighbors:
OK, gang, this is the absolute final email before the big bike event hosted by RTD this Saturday, September 15, 2012 and in which our Eiber Neighborhood, as part of the Lakewood Sustainable Neighborhoods, will participate.
Only a couple of additional items that I have to pass along are the Events For the Day at the Decatur-Federal light rail stop, and the "complete" bike path map from Denver to Golden (well, there still are a few missing links from the Decatur-Federal Station into the Auraria Campus, but there is time before next spring and the official opening of the West Rail Line). You just have to be concerned with getting to the Oak Street Station by 9am. Here's a link to the entire route map if you're so inclined.

Those starting at the Oak Street Station, you must fill out a registration form. It's faster if you download it here and bring to the starting area at Oak Street. When you fill out the registration form, ask about arrangements for a bus ride back. Here's a link to the Bike Event registration form.
I personally will be at the first "whistle stop" stamping "passports" for the kids at the NW corner of 13th Ave and Garrison Street and I urge all Eiber neighbors to tell their friends to sign up for the Eiber Lakewood Sustainable Neighborhoods Newsletter to keep up with future plans for BIKE EIBER. Such as:
Bike Tours of the West Rail Line; Bike Rodeos for Kids; Discarded Bikes for Poor Kids Program; Safe bicycle routes to the elementary schools (including Molholm); Bike to the Rockies Games; Using Your Bicycle on the Bus; Safe Cycling Commuting from Lakewood to Denver and Golden; Advocating for Bicycle Infrastructure and Signage; "Bicycle-Friendly" Businesses and Apartment Dwellings; Bike Tourism Between Lakewood, Denver, & Golden and Short, Easy Weekly Rides.
Also, when you stop at the 13th and Garrison St. Whistle Stop, please sign the petition to gently persuade the City of Lakewood to place "sharrows" on City streets that are used as part of the RTD Bike Path system and sign up to receive more information on one project that you may find very interesting: a Bike Depot with multiple uses and we would like to invite more neighborhood feedback.
Now, click on this link to go to the RTD Event Day timeline from beginning to end as it contains some vital and interested items.
If you have any additional questions about the event not listed on the RTD Q & A Page website, please directly email the RTD representative, Lindsey Smith at:
lindsey.smith@RTD-Denver.com or call her at 303-299-2895
See you out there on your bikes on Saturday, September 15th.
