Recently Hamodia has an article entitled,"The Full Circle of Kiruv." It tells the inspiring tale of Torah Academy's dear friends and supporters, Drs. Allen and Amy Wolnerman, and the Hashgacha pratis that led them into the world of Kiruv and Torah.

Elementary Insights

The first graders worked on their reading program this week using their personal Success Maker computer program. "We've been working with the Success Maker for a full two months and the level of reading and math has progressed so beautifully as well as the children's confidence and interest in learning," said Mrs. Turk.

Mrs. Feder experimented with the fourth graders last week as they used the scientific method to explore how a flood forms. Pouring water into a pot of soil, the students simulated three days of rain and discovered what happens to the soil each day. "The pot and the soil were flooded out from the water," said Mendel Cohen.

Middle School Milestones

The sixth graders were modeling how a lung works. They used a bottle and a balloon to recreate the movement of a lung. The students had to act like scientists, making observations and using the scientific method. "They also recorded their own breathing rates. It was a way of teaching them to draw conclusions," said Ms. Ulett.

Early Childhood Encounters

Rosh Chodesh Kislev was an opportunity for the entire Early Childhood to get together and enjoy singing songs and having fun. Rabbi Moshe Cheplowitz, of Hebrew Academy of Palm Beach, played the guitar, sang songs, and taught the children about Chanukah. To top it off, a special ices treat was enjoyed by everyone! A great time was had by all!

Early Childhood had Parent-Teacher conferences this week. "It's always wonderful to see our parents and share Nachas. Conferences are an opportunity for parents to get a peek of their child's day by having a chance to see their child's work and photos displayed on the walls." said Mrs. Askotzky.
