PTO Parent Melave Malka was a Beautiful Event

A very special thank you to the Kaskels for hosting such a beautiful Melave Malka this past Motzei Shabbos. It was not only a time to gather as a community but the next phase of Torah Academy's success and development was highlighted through photographs and speeches.

Rabbi Feinberg and Rabbi Glazer introduced the plans and development of the new building and the vision for our school expansion. We encourage families and friends to get involved with this exciting endeavour.

Middle School Milestones

This past week Torah Academy participated in a one-day Torah conference for 5th and 6th grade Rabbeim. The conference, organized by Torah Umesorah, brought Rabbeim together from all across South Florida to discuss topics relevant to this unique age group.

Middle school students were busy directing, producing, and acting in dramatic presentations relating to the Gemara they are learning.

This week's Hamodia has an article entitled,"The Full Circle of Kiruv." It tells the inspiring tale of Torah Academy's dear friends and supporters, Drs. Allen and Amy Wolnerman, and the Hashgacha pratis that led them into the world of Kiruv and Torah. Click here to view this remarkable article.

Elementary Insights

The fourth graders enjoyed their annual Chocolate Party with Mrs. Plotkin after completing Chocolate Fever by Robert Kimmel Smith. Mrs. Plotkin noted, "It is a terrific first novel. It is quick, filled with creativity and rich characters, not to mention... delicious!" The students indulged in a variety of chocolaty treats as they discussed the larger themes of the book.

Early Childhood Encounters

A highlight of this week's Parsha was when the EC- 3 class made their own play-dough jewelry to emulate the jewelry that Rivka was given. As the children made the gooey, sticky batter, Morah Revi cooked up the colorful play-dough shapes and sizes and the children made their own beads out of it. They will use the beads to create their own unique pieces of jewelry.

Overheard at Torah Academy

Over a dozen women attended the first Tuesday morning shiur taught by Rabbi Baumann this week. The topic, 7 Steps to Discovering Inner Faith, Security and Strength was a huge conversation starter and lead to active and introspective discussion.

"The topic was so interesting and the way that Rabbi Baumann spoke was so inspiring," said Mrs. Rivka Lindenberg.

Rabbi Baumann brought source sheets, including Sefer Chovos HaLevavos - Duties of the Heart, and stories that offered connections to this important value. He challenged the women to engage in meaningful learning about such an integral part of our Torah lives and our ever-growing connection to Hashem.

"Bitachon and a deep realization of our security come from the true quality of our relationship to HaKadosh Baruch Hu," said Rabbi Baumann. Rabbi Baumann will be teaching the 7 Steps course each Tuesday immediately after morning carpool drop-off. All women are invited to attend.

Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held this Sunday and Tuesday

Elementary and Middle School Parent-Teacher conferences will be held this Sunday as well as Tuesday evening. This is a perfect time for parents and teachers to share information about their child and partner with one another in the successful chinuch of their children.

We are pleased to announce that our CIJE/Gruss Success Maker Computer Lab will be open during Parent-Teacher Conferences for a TRY ME parent demonstration. We are excited to share our new, powerful individualized academic tool for parents to experience for themselves. The lab will be open throughout conferences, available for parents to come in both before and after their conferences. Be sure to stop in!

The PTO is once again printing the "Numbers at Your Fingertips" magnet. This refrigerator magnet is a helpful resource listing local kosher establishments and businesses that serve the local community. This is a wonderful way to advertise your business and raise needed funds for the school! If you are interested in placing a listing or would like to volunteer to help on this project, please call Denise Herschberg at 561-306-5872 or Margo Rosman at 561-672-7929.

The PTO is excited to announce the start of the Birthday Book Club! Every family will have the opportunity to participate in this amazing program that will help expand our library. For more details, please call Mrs. Adina Galbut at 561-449-1172.
