Computer Lab Dedication with Jason Cury and Joel Beritz of CIJE and Gruss Foundation

This week, Torah Academy of Boca Raton dedicated its new Computer Lab. The Lab and software were made possible by a generous donation by CIJE, the Center for Initiatives in Jewish Education. On hand for the dedication ceremony were Jason Curry and Joel Beritz, President and Vice-President of the Gruss Life Monument Fund, TABR faculty, staff and upper grade students.
The centerpiece of the Yeshiva's new Computer Lab is the Pearson Education SuccessMaker software. This software assesses each individual student's level of instruction and then engages them in an immersive, multimedia lesson tailored specifically to their abilities and level of mastery of math and language arts.
Rabbi Reuven Feinberg remarked, "We are privileged to host Mr. Curry and Mr. Beritz. The Gruss Life Monument Fund and CIJE have changed the face of Jewish Education. The programs and initiatives that that have been implemented with their help, guidance and support have touched the lives of tens of thousands of young people throughout the world and particularly here at Torah Academy in Boca Raton."
Mr. Curry spoke about his tour of the Yeshiva, "We love to visit schools and see students working, thinking and learning. We love to speak to the students...and to see the smiles on their faces when they speak about the computer lab. They like working in the lab and to us that is one the most important things that can happen in a school."
Mr. Beritz spoke to the crowd about Mr. Joseph Gruss, ob"m, the founder of the Gruss Life Monument Fund. "I can say being here and seeing the children and the classes, 'Od Yosef Shaul Gruss Chai!'"

Middle School Milestones
The Middle school class participated in art class and focused on the artist, Vangogh. They learned about him, and his artistic technique, which lead them into their own expression of the sunflowers they were working on. Using acrylics and oil pastels the students each created their own masterpieces. |
