Middle School Milestones

The Middle School heard a special shiur given by Rabbi Ephraim Palgon, Rosh Yeshiva of ROHR Middle School and founding principal of Torah Academy of Boca Raton. He spoke to them about responsibility and accountability as a growing young man and the importance of doing Mitzvos even before becoming a Bar Mitzvah. "Practice makes perfect," said Rabbi Glazer. "It was so special for the boys to hear words of chizuk from such a master educator," said Rabbi Glazer.

Ms. Ulett has creatively introduced a way of learning the scientific method through the use of "M&M's." The students were engaged in the activity as they tabulated and separated the colors. "It is a hands-on way to teach an important science lesson," said Ms. Ulett. Each student was responsible for writing a hypothesis and conclusion.

Early Childhood Back to School Night

The Early Childhood Back to School night was a special time for parents to meet the staff and explore their child's classroom. The rooms were decorated with highlights from the first weeks of school. "It is so wonderful to have the opportunity to meet with parents and share all the things we learn throughout our day. They gained insight into the value of our centers, art activities and hands-on learning experiences," said Morah Perri Plitt, Kindergarten teacher.

Torah Academy Golf Tournament and Mega Barbeque

Join our golf fans and Torah Academy enthusiasts on Monday, October 31st, for a fun-filled day of golf and great food featuring Dr. B's Rib Shack which will once again be serving ribs on the course as well as steaks, hot dogs, and gelato.

The world famous Heron Bay Golf Club is under new management and has invested over a million dollars into making the course even more beautiful and challenging. We are introducing a raffle this year with 5 incredible prize packages and an opportunity to win $100,000 cash.

Early Childhood Encounters

Baking is always such a delicious and important part of the Pre-K curriculum. Morah Lori baked apples with her students and tasted different types of apples. "The sweetness of the new year should be on their minds and on their lips," said Morah Lori.

Elementary Insights

Rabbi Yachnes introduced the first graders to the different fruits that will be eaten at the Rosh Hashana table.  "Through setting a Rosh Hashana table with the students, I can help prepare them for the order of the meal and they will become engaged and participate in the holiday," said Rabbi Yachnes.

Overheard at Torah Academy

Mrs. Cynthia Dejtiar has introduced a love of art to the students at Torah Academy. She showed the students the artwork of a master artist, Romero Britto, and the students incorporated his unique style into their own Rosh Hashana paintings. "I am interested in teaching the students the joy and relaxation that comes with painting and art. It is a time to color "outside the lines," she said. The students will have art workshops throughout the year.
