Fifth Grade Boys Visit Gumbo Limbo Nature Center

The fifth graders ventured to Gumbo Limbo Nature Center this week to conclude their learning of Florida's native animals, which was a subject within their social studies curriculum and their recently completed novel, The Talking Earth.  The students were excited to see the natural habitats of some of the ocean's larger animals that were written about in the book. The students asked relevant questions and were fascinated by the studies being done on sea turtles.

Rabbi Englander began his Pesach curriculum this week with his third graders. Each student received a Haggadah that they will fill in with Brachos and Mitzvos of Pesach as well as Divrei Torah. "One of my goals with these Haggadahs is that the students continue to use them and add to them each year," said Rabbi Englander.

Early Childhood Encounters

The Pre-K class had their very own model seder this week as the students sang songs and tasted the marror and charoset. "It is exciting and important educationally to experience the seder as we learn about it," said Morah Guttman. The children were dressed up and ready to enjoy their first tastes of Pesach this year.

The Kindergarteners are experiencing the mitzvos of Pesach through taste and touch as they make their own salt water. "The students are enthusiastic and mature enough to understand and recite the proper Brachos involved with Pesach," said Mrs. Rabovsky.

"Thank you to all the children and families who participated and sold chocolate. It was a very successful campaign," said Mrs. Rivka Lindenberg, PTO Co-President.
