Mother-Daughter Brunch

The Torah Academy Mother-Daughter Brunch was a wonderful and meaningful event! Thank you to Mrs. Gita Guttman for giving a beautiful presentation. Everyone participated in learning and creating a special project. "The luncheon was a wonderful opportunity for me to spend time with my girls and Mrs. Guttman gave over such a beautiful teaching," said Mrs. Raden.

A special thank you to Mrs. Ali Zak for coordinating the event and Mrs. Aviva Gonsher for assisting her.  Also, thank you to the following parent volunteers:  Mrs. Naomi Bluth, Mrs. Chayi Cohen, Mrs. Henna Englander, Mrs. Felicia Frohlich, Mrs. Adina Galbut, Mrs. Jennifer Gibber, Mrs. Gita Guttman, Mrs. Rivka Lindenberg, Dr. Jorie Lyons, Mrs. Ruchie Lyons, Mrs. Melissa Wiesel, and Mrs. Shevie Yachnes.

First Graders Perform at Pre-Purim Assembly

The first graders were the stars of our Pre-Purim assembly this week, as they performed a play about the meaning of the holiday. The students memorized their lines and sang songs as Rabbi Yachnes and Mrs. Witztum directed them through their stellar performance.

New for Purim- Mulch Return

Our dedicated PTO has launched a new brilliant idea that will save Torah Academy thousands of dollars - a carpool Mulch return. Each day, parents are asked to collect the mulch pieces that arrive on their living room floors and are found in the laundry baskets and machines, and drop them off in the MULCH RETURN BOX that will be conveniently placed along the carpool lane. Conscientious parents are asked to check students' shoes, inside of socks, inner pants cuffs and backpacks as well.

"Our children are bringing home much more than the precious learning, they're also bringing home our precious mulch," said Rabbi Baumann. "We want it back!" "This promises to be our most effective fund-raiser yet," said Mrs. Lindenberg, PTO President.

Elementary Insights

The fourth grade girls completed a lesson on similes and metaphors within the context of their novel, One Day in a Tropical Rainforest. In addition to creating a poster and using the ideas from the novel, they also created their own literary devices to express a deeper understanding of the story.

Early Childhood Encounters

The EC3 children became architects this week as they built their very own Shushan. They are preparing for Purim through art, songs and stories.
