Our Twelth Anniversary Dinner, to be held on Tuesday, February 15th, is only a little over a week away. We hope you'll join us as we express sincere gratitude to our Torah Academy faculty and family for making our accomplishments possible.
One of the values we hold dear as members of Klal Yisroel is the attitude of reverence and respect we accord the generations that came before us. We can most deeply feel this admiration and connection with our grandparents; thankfully, many of us have, or have had, the opportunity to directly benefit from their influence in our lives. This year we honor two special sets of grandparents, Meyer and Rachel Bluth, and Boruch and Sharon Fleischman. Each couple has accomplished within their own lives what Torah Academy strives for with our students: transmitting Torah to the next generation with love, enthusiasm, and unwavering pride and loyalty.
The deadline for dinner reservations and submitting journal ads is February 10th. We encourage you to support Torah Academy by placing a tribute in the ad journal. The Annual Dinner is Torah Academy's primary fundraising event and the journal is the key to the campaign's success. Please help us to make this campaign our most successful ever!
Please contact Rabbi Reuven Feinberg at rfeinberg@torahacademybr.org for more information on placing a tribute ad in the journal. |

Batter Up! In computers this week, the fourth and fifth grade boys have been given the assignment of creating their very own team roster, using a computer-generated baseball game. They will assign positions and create an excel spreadsheet of player stats.
"I can't decide who to choose because I want everyone on my team," said Yossi Plotkin, fourth grade.

Halacha Corner
Q. Can I play with "Fuzzoodles" (a doll made from flexible wires that bend back and forth without breaking) on Shabbos? (Z Gross - K)
A. Yes. [The only issue would be tying the wires. Poskim disagree regarding tying a bag closed with the metal "twisty ties" on Shabbos. Some say it's a problem of Koshair" making a knot, while others say it's not. (SSK 16,166 vs SL 8,55 & RMF (see IGM O"C 2,84) ]
Do YOU have a Halacha Question? Write it down on a piece of paper and hand it into Rabbi Baumann. |
