We have just over three weeks to go until Tuesday, February 15th, when we will hold our Twelth Anniversary Dinner. We look forward to sharing an evening of celebration and camaraderie with all of you.

This week, we shine our honoree spotlight on Rabbi Ben and Rebecca Sugerman, a couple who represent the selfless volunteerism and constant focus on improvement that keep our Yeshiva strong. Each is repeatedly willing to take on demanding roles and large projects to benefit Torah Academy, giving tremendous time and energy to build on our essentials and add to our enrichments. Torah Academy wholeheartedly appreciates the high priority with which the Sugermans treat our Yeshiva in their lives.

Only a few days remain until the ad deadline of January 31st.

We encourage you to support Torah Academy by placing a tribute in the ad journal. The Annual Dinner is Torah Academy's primary fundraising event and the journal is the key to the campaign's success.

Please contact Rabbi Reuven Feinberg at rfeinberg@torahacademybr.org for more information on placing a tribute ad in the journal.

Open House was a Huge Success

The school was buzzing with excitement this past Sunday at the Torah Academy Annual Open House. Dozens of families came to the school ready to have a great time. One of the playgrounds was filled with students playing on our new volleyball and basketball courts, while the other playground donned a bounce house, cotton candy machine, train ride, and Boca's best Gelato. The atmosphere was enthusiastic and enriched by those who attended. Many enjoyed the delicious hotdogs and hamburgers. The classrooms showed the parents a peek of the curricular activities that their children embark on all week long.

Tu B'Shevat Assembly

A school-wide assembly took place on Tu B'Shevat this week. Thank you to our guest speaker, Rabbi Jay Lyons of JUMP. In addition, the second graders performed a play, written by Mrs. Engel, and performed it for their parents and peers. The children practiced it for weeks and their enthusiasm grew throughout the process! A special thank you to the PTO for sponsoring Shivas Haminim bags for our students.

Early Childhood Encounters

Luckily, the Florida winter has not prevented our students from enjoying the outdoors. Our Kindergarteners are continuing to learn about Brachos and experienced a hands on strawberry picking field trip this week. "They should know where the fruits they are eating and enjoying are coming from," said Morah Chana.

EC-3 students are using many different forms of artistic expression this week, as they created a tree for Tu B'Shevat. Morah Chaya and Morah Esther were so proud of their students as they carefully painted the tree's bark, branches and leaves.
