The Margo Allswang Memorial Lecture

This Shabbos and Sunday evening at the Margo Allswang Memorial Lecture the community will come together to continue to further Margo's dream of building our community, educating our children, and bringing people together who share Torah values.

"We are very excited about the opportunity to partner with Torah Academy in honoring Margo's Memory through a weekend of learning with Rabbi Becher.  Margo was an extraordinary person whose kindness, care and concern for others were her hallmark.  Rabbi Becher is an outstanding speaker who leaves his audiences inspired, educated and entertained and we know this will be a great tribute to Margo," said Rabbi Efrem Goldberg.

The weekend will culminate with a lecture, Sunday evening, given by Rabbi Mordechai Becher, of Gateways. For more information please call Torah Academy at 561-347-1821.

The boys were excited to wear their latest P.E. colors as they played football with Rabbi Hochman. Choosing blue and yellow vests adds to the school spirit and encourages team work for our students. "Our P.E. program is always working on the students' "game" outside of the classroom - growth, attitude, Midos, and exercise," said Rabbi Hochman.

Early Childhood Encounters

Morah Revi has been working on the ideas of twins, taken from this week's Parsha. She uses the story to show the differences and similarities between twins. Creating Yaakov and Esav cutouts and making a steaming pot of lentil soup, are some ways EC-3 highlights the points of the Parsha.

"It is always a pleasure seeing a teacher rejoined with her students. EC- 2 had a smooth transition, thanks to Morah Randi, and are enjoying having both teachers back together again," said Mrs. Askotzky.

Morah Hodaya was eagerly welcomed back by her EC- 2 students. Through music and movement, the children express themselves and articulated their voices. "I am so excited to be back. I am so happy to see how they have grown," said Morah Hodaya.

Mrs. Engel uses the projector with her second grade students for a social studies lesson. They are learning the seven continents through pictures and music.  "Using different modalities to educate is important and exciting for the students," said Mrs. Engel.

Look out for a new monthly magazine from the fourth grade boys! "The Boy's Gazette" will hit the Torah Academy Newsstand this month with Issue #1. The students are excited at their first staff meeting in the press room. They dressed in suits and wore their staff badges. "This is awesome," said the fourth grade collectively!

Q. What do I do if I'm in the middle of Shemoneh Esrei and there's an emergency (let's say a Fire Drill)? [5th Grade Boys]

A. You should interrupt Shemoneh Esrei because of the emergency and walk away without talking. Continue remaining silent until you can return to Shemoneh Esrei. If the emergency interruption was as long as it takes you to say Shemoneh Esrei, then you need to start over. If the interruption was shorter than it takes you to say Shemoneh Esrei, you return to the Bracha that you left off from.  [Shulchan Oruch O"C: 104,3]
