Torah Academy was honored to welcome Rabbi Yakov Gibber of Congregation Ohev Shalom in Boca Raton as our guest speaker at our Shavuos Assembly.

Elementary Insights

Learning Pirkei Avos has become a significant part of the Limudei Kodesh curriculum for our fourth and fifth grade girls as they prepared a play for the elementary school girls. Each student shared a Mishnah and Torah idea and then acted out a particular Middah for the students. "It is a great educational tool for the student to take the learning and then physically portray the Torah lesson," said Mrs. Meth. The girls dressed in costume and had props to illustrate their points. They were articulate and interesting. They were directed and musically accompanied by Mrs, Meth.

Early Childhood Garden is Blossoming and Growing

Our Early Childhood garden is blossoming and growing just as beautifully as our youngest T.A. students are. The children actively participate in planting and caring for the garden weekly and are excited to be a part of something so special. They have grown peppers and tomatoes as well as colorful flowers.

The children also had a special lesson and unit on butterflies. For a few weeks the children have watched caterpillars changing into butterflies which were housed in each of the EC classrooms. As they all 'morphed' into butterflies the children set them free into their garden.

"The children had so much fun with the project and eagerly waited for the butterflies to appear," said Morah Esther.

Scholastic Book Fair at Torah Academy

Our multi-purpose room was transformed into a Scholastic Book Fair this past week as the students were able to browse and create their own wish lists for the latest novels and books of their choice.  A very speacial thank you to Mrs. Rivka Lindenberg, Mrs. Rebecca Sugerman, Mrs. Adina Galbut and Mrs. Melissa Wiesel for their help with the event.
