Rabbi Yachnes' second graders led another successful music presentation entitled, "A Trip to Eretz Yisroel"  for the members of Congregation Torah Ohr at Century Village in Boca Raton. Rabbi Feinberg was a guest speaker at the event and spoke about the love and passion we must have for Eretz Yisroel and the miraculous survival of the Jewish People.

"Our Torah Academy Ateres Zekeinim program has been so successful this year and the children really appreciate doing the Mitzvah and love participating in it", said Rabbi Yachnes.

Early Childhood Program Boards A Plane for Eretz Yisroel

The Early Childhood division enjoyed a trip to Eretz Yisrael this past Monday. The entire ECE student body boarded an airplane in the hallway flown by four Kindergarten pilots. Each classroom was transformed into a different city of Israel and the children took turns visiting each city. They learned about the special places in Eretz Yisrael such as the Kotel and the Maaras Hamachpeilah. They also enjoyed Israeli food such as falafel and ice cream. In each classroom, the children were given hands-on opportunities such as writing a note and placing it in the Kotel in Yerushalayim, digging for shells at the Tel Aviv beach or making a B'samim holder in the Golan. They learned Hebrew in Chevron and a wonderful time was had by all.

"The children have gained an appreciation and love for Eretz Yisrael through reading books, looking at pictures and learning about the holy cities in an age-appropriate way. They know that this is the special place that Hashem has given us and a place where we all want to be,"said Mrs. Askotzky.

Strawberries Anyone?

The Kindergarten children went on a field trip to "The Girls" with Mrs. Rabovsky. They were so excited to pick the fresh, ripe strawberries and put them into their baskets on Tuesday. They also learned about fresh produce and eating healthy foods. The students came home and couldn't wait to share their fruits with their family.

Fifth Grade Girls Go to Epcot on Graduation Trip

Our fifth grade girls joined the Toras Emes girls for a graduation trip to Epcot on Monday. It was a full day trip and nothing was spared. The girls experienced all the fun of the theme park including rides, fun and friendships as they are preparing to say goodbye to elementary school and welcome in new experiences in middle school.

"I am tired, but I had a wonderful time with all of my friends," said Meira Selig.

Halacha Corner

Q. If apple juice is made from apples, and you make 'Ha-eitz' on apples, why do you make

'Shehakol' on apple juice? (Meira Gilden)

A. Even though apple juice comes from apples, it's not considered a part or piece of the apple, but something that comes from the apple. On any part of the apple we make a 'Ha-eitz', but on something that

only comes from the apple we make a 'Shehakol'.

Do YOU have a Halacha Question? Write it down on a piece of paper and hand it into Rabbi Baumann.
