Early Childhood Program Boards A Plane for Eretz Yisroel
|
The Early Childhood division
enjoyed a trip to Eretz Yisrael this past Monday. The entire ECE student body
boarded an airplane in the hallway flown by four Kindergarten pilots. Each
classroom was transformed into a different city of Israel and the children took
turns visiting each city. They learned about the special places in Eretz
Yisrael such as the Kotel and the Maaras Hamachpeilah. They also enjoyed
Israeli food such as falafel and ice cream. In each classroom, the children
were given hands-on opportunities such as writing a note and placing it in the
Kotel in Yerushalayim, digging for shells at the Tel Aviv beach or making a
B'samim holder in the Golan. They learned Hebrew in Chevron and a wonderful time
was had by all. "The children have gained an
appreciation and love for Eretz Yisrael through reading books, looking at
pictures and learning about the holy cities in an age-appropriate way. They
know that this is the special place that Hashem has given us and a place where
we all want to be,"said Mrs. Askotzky.

their family.

Q. If apple juice
is made from apples, and you make 'Ha-eitz' on apples, why do you make
'Shehakol' on apple
juice? (Meira Gilden)
A. Even though
apple juice comes from apples, it's not considered a part or piece of the
apple, but something that comes from the apple. On any part of the apple
we make a 'Ha-eitz', but on something that
only comes from
the apple we make a 'Shehakol'.
Do YOU have a
Halacha Question? Write it down on a piece of paper and hand it into Rabbi
Baumann.
