Mother- Daughter Luncheon this Sunday

This Sunday, a very special mother- daughter luncheon will be held at the school at 12:30. Girls in grades 1-5 will attend with their mothers. "I am excited to spend individual time with each of my daughters in such a meaningful way," said Mrs. Allison Zak, chair of the event.
Torah Academy's Open House was a Huge Success

Last Sunday over 225 people including current students, families and the Torah Academy extended family attended and enjoyed the energy as we welcomed new and potential families to visit our campus. With tours of the school, hands-on crafts, a bounce house, a train ride for the children, the day was filled with laughter and interest in the growing school.

A slide show and formal presentation were highlights of the day as Rabbi Baumann and Rabbi Feinberg shared their academic and more global visions for the school. Teachers were available for discussions and academic displays lined the bright and cheerful hallways.  A very special thank you goes to Dr. Yehuda and Michal Marcus as well as Dr. Jay Keehn and Mrs. Rivka Lindenberg for their help planning and organizing the Open House.

Early Childhood Encounters

  "Yocheved had a baby boy..."

It is never too early to begin learning about the lives of our greatest Jewish leaders. That is how Morah Revi feels in EC-3. This week she embarked on a journey with her students through music and art to re-create the early years of Moshe Rabbeinu, and the Jewish slavery in Mitzrayim.

"Bang, bang, bang hold hammers high..."

"In early childhood we are always finding new ways of engaging the students in important Torah learning," said Morah Revi.  The children crafted a Teva for Moshe and heavy bricks using soil and glue as an expression of Moshe's journey down the Nile and Jewish slavery in Mitzrayim.

A Metamorphosis in the third grade!

The children waited eagerly for their butterflies to spring forth from their cocoons. The colorful, winged creatures took up residence in the classroom as a science project. Mrs. Silver introduced the subject to the students as part of a larger discussion about nature.

"They were all so interested and eager to learn more and witness this miraculous occurrence," said Mrs. Silver.

"I was so excited and I watched for them every day," said Nesanel Ringelheim.
Students' Halacha Corner

Q. Can I throw out a Dvar Torah or Project Derech Sheet once I've finished sharing with my family on Shabbos? Do I have to put it in Shaimos?

A. Because it was made for temporary use, you do not need to put it in Shaimos. However, you should not throw it out with the left-over cholent and orange peels. Wrap it in a bag in an honorable way, and then place it in the garbage.
