| Early Childhood Encounters |
Morah Choomie's EC-4 class showed off their creativity as they created Jellyfish and explored the letter J this week. Each week the children are given many ways to explore their personal learning strengths. "Through sensory experiences, artistic expression, listening skills and music, the children have many opportunities to help them to remember and acquire new skills," said Morah Choomie.
The children also made Jello and Jumped around the classroom to reinforce their learning.
Winter time in Kindergarten
Learning about the winter month of Teves with Mrs. Rabovsky brings the cold weather indoors as the children sang songs like " kar b'chutz..." and explored weather changes and the seasons. "It is important that the students learn about seasonal changes and experience different types of weather, both here and in the land of Israel," said Mrs. Rabovsky. |

Third graders' points add up!
Bowling it is! The students of Rabbi Englander's third grade chose a reward for earning 125 points for their Davening and proper classroom manners. On Monday, Rabbi Englander took his third graders for a few rounds of bowling.
For months now, the students have been working toward earning points as a class in order to win a big prize. "This point system is a way of creating classroom bonding and the kids work together to motivate one another," said Rabbi Englander.
"Bowling was so fun and I am looking forward to earning even more points, 250 points, to get something else," said Chana Gibber .
Scrap booking takes on a more significant nature.
At the beginning of the year, among the school supply list, Mrs. Meth asked her fourth and fifth grade girls to bring in artistic supplies to create a scrap book. The enthusiasm and curiosity sprang from there and now the girls have completed several pages, each containing a Shofet. They are working towards completing their very own Navi Scrap Book. "Bringing in their personal creativity lends itself toward having an open-ended learning experience," said Mrs. Meth.
"I just competed Shofetess Devorah. She was very musical, so I used musical notes and phrases decorating various Pesukim and wrote a summary of her life," said Leah Rabovsky. | |
