Ateres Zekeinim Program Performs at Congregation Ohev Shalom Chanukah Celebration |
|

Last Sunday, after lighting the Chanukah candles, our students performed in their 'fourth' concert, as part of Torah Academy's Ateres Zekeinim program entertaining around the community. It was a very special program at the home of Rabbi and Mrs. Yaakov Gibber, as Rabbi Yachnes lead the children in song and joy in celebration of Chanukah for the friends and members of Congregation Ohev Shalom.
"It was a privilege to partner with Torah Academy and participate in the Ateres Zekaynim program. Led by a most talented, dedicated and energetic Rebbe, Rabbi Yachnes, our Shul Chanukah party was greatly enhanced by the musical rendition performed by the 2nd and 3rd grade classes. Their lively spirit set the tone for what was a most memorable evening," said Rabbi Gibber.
"It was so sweet and the children really enjoyed being a part of something so special," added Mrs. Jennifer Gibber. . |

Look Ima and Abba at all I have learned!
Wednesday and Thursday were big days for our early childhood students. Parents entered the classrooms with smiles as the eagerly waited for their little ones to sing and dance in celebration of all they learned about Chanukah. The parents engaged in art projects and snacks with their children and enjoyed experiencing a school day together.
"It is so important to bring the parents in to the classrooms so that they can experience what their children do each day. We create a low pressure environment where the children develop at their own pace," said Mrs. Askotzky.
"I was so happy to see the love and joy that Tzippora (K) experiences each day," said Jarret Peritzman. "She loves school and was so excited about today," added Mr. Peritzman. |
| Chanukah with their Rebbe! |
The third graders celebrated Chanukah with their Rebbe, Rabbi Englander, and his family on Thursday night. With song and Simcha the students all participated in a celebration that took them from the learning environment of a classroom to the Jewish experience of a home. "It makes all of the learning so much more valuable and real for the children," said Mrs. Henna Englander. The evening was filled with music, food and games for the Chag. |
