Torah Academy Announces Establishment of the Margo Allswang Memorial Fund
Torah Academy of Boca Raton  is proud to announce the establishment of the Margo Allswang Memorial Fund.  Margo was one of the true builders of the school, from the time the Allswang's moved to Boca in 1999, until her untimely passing earlier this year.
The launching event for the Fund will be held on Wednesday, December 9th at the Boca Raton Synagogue with Rabbi Rietti as the guest speaker.  The entire community is invited to join together in the establishment of this fund and in this evening of chizuk.  The fund will provide additional educational, curricular and extra-curricular programs to the students of Torah Academy, as well as to provide assistance to specific families who wish to provide their children with a well-rounded education within an environment focused on good middos and care for each child.
"As a founding member, Margo was at the forefront of many school programs, and always sought to help the school provide for the needs of each child. I am honored to serve as chairman of this Fund, and will work diligently to ensure that Margo's dreams of building the school to increasingly greater levels will be carried out," said Elliot Allswang.
There has been a very strong response to the opportunity to join in the establishment of this Fund.  Torah Academy has set a goal of 100% participation from its families, in order to unify and join together in honoring Margo's memory in this most fitting manner.

Torah Academy was honored to welcome Mr. Joel Beretz,
Vice President of the Gruss Life Monument Funds. The Gruss Life Monument Funds mission is to provide funding for Jewish Education and other worthy causes. Project Derech Begins with Rabbi Glatt

Rabbi Gedalya Glatt visited the school this week for our school-wide assembly. With students from first-fifth grade attending for words of Torah, storytelling and school spirit, the Rabbi enchanted the students with his messages of middos and appreciation. Project Derech is in its third year at Torah Academy and has truly made a difference in the middos and attitudes of the student body. A core value in the development of the schools culture, project derech is a perfect match for the growing institution.
"Rabbi Glatt's storytelling, humor and powerful message inspire the children year after year," said Rabbi Baumann.
"The direct impact that Project Derech has made on our students and their families is evident in all their interactions individually and as a school culture" added Rabbi Baumann.
Health Care is Taught at Torah Academy

Cleanliness is taken very seriously at Torah Academy. Step-by-step rules for the students are hung in key places throughout the school. The signs have helped reinforce our policy on this important matter.

A health care mini lesson was given to all the classes. Mrs.Miriam Wealcatch reinforced strategies such as hand washing after recess and bathroom use, as well as before snack and lunch time. "All of these methods and reminders will help ensure the health and safety of our students and their families," said Mrs. Wealcatch.

Early Childhood Encounters

The teachers and students of EC-4 enjoyed painting and decorating camels as they learned about all of the gifts given to Rivka in this weeks parsha. They sang songs and heard stories all week, including a song about Eliezers journey home..."He took camels and jewelry the best..."
"It is so fun to paint the camels," said Menucha Meth.
"What is exciting at this point in the year is that we see their intellectual level developing and they are becoming more independent thinkers and doers," said Morah Guttman.
