Greetings!
What a week we've had! Last Friday we celebrated our 35th Anniversary in style at Eden Gardens. It was wonderful to have some of our supporters, volunteers, clients and staff together to celebrate such an enormous milestone. We also launched the highly-anticipated TADNSW Calendar, which is now available to buy. It's the perfect time to buy your calendars for next year! Order yours now. Next Thursday TAD will be standing beside other disability organisations in support of the continuation of Stronger Together initiative at the Opera House. And in just a few short weeks we will sending out our annual Christmas Appeal to help us secure funds for our work in 2011. If you haven't already, please find us on facebook . It's a great way to stay in touch and connect with other TAD supporters. You can also check out some of the photos from Friday night on there too!

Standing up for disability support
News

Next week TADNSW will be joining a number of community and disability organisations on the steps of the Sydney Opera House to show the strength of the disability sector and to support the continuation of the Stronger Together initiative in New South Wales (NSW).
This rally is very important for people with disability, their families and their carers, as well as the services and workforce that provide support to them.
Right now, the funding needed to adequately support people with disability, their families and carers and enable greater choice and voice under the Stronger Together program is not in the State Budget.
This leaves us in an uncertain and unwelcome situation where future initiatives, sector reforms and growth beyond June 30, 2011 remain unclear.
Both the Premier and the Opposition Leader will be there to hear our message - they must put disability above politics and fund its future.
The Show Your Strength Rally is being held at the Sydney Opera House forecourt on 28 October from 12pm - 1pm (assemble from 11am).

TAD's 35th Birthday Bash
Fundraising
|
| Penny Graham and Mike Bailey | Despite the wild weather Friday night's 35th Anniversary Dinner turned out to be a fantastic night.
We were lucky to have Mike Bailey as our MC on the night and the wonderful Isaac providing the musical entertainment.
Over 100 guests attended TAD's birthday bash at Eden Gardens and helped us celebrate 35 years of service to people with disabilities.
Our theme was "Growing Independence: TAD's 35 Year Journey" and the surrounds of Eden Gardens helped capture that idea. Each guest also went home with their own packet of Forget Me Not seeds to grow. Read more about it on our blog |

Sometimes we receive computer equipment donations that we can't use, but someone else might be able to. We try to recycle our excess or unusable equipment donations by selling on ebay to the general public. This is part of our commitment to reduce e-waste.
