Greetings!
A lot has happened since our last email newsletter: we have a female PM, an election has been called, the BP oil leak has at last been plugged (we hope!) and more locally we have said goodbye to our CEO Joy Barrett. We wish her well in her new position and thank her for leadership and guidance for the past 5 years.
Just this morning we appointed our new CEO Alan McGregor and we look forward to the next phase for TADNSW. Read more about Alan.
In the meantime it is business as usual at TADNSW. The next TADJournal is at the printers as we speak. The coming edition is full of Seniors stories, featuring devices and modifications that help older people stay independent and safe in their homes and outdoors. If you're interested in subscribing, you can find out more on our website.
Lions International has once again supported our Freedom Wheels® Modified Bike Service; this time we've featured in a DVD.
Now that our Winter Appeal is over we are focusing on our 35th Anniversary Celebrations in October. Make sure you're on the list to receive an invitation.

Alan McGregor appointed TAD CEO
Special Announcement
After a thorough search the Board has appointed Alan McGregor as the new CEO. Alan is a familiar face at TADNSW, known to many as our Director of Services. Alan joined TADNSW in 2001 as the Manager of the Computer Loan Service, taking on the wider role of Director of Services in 2007. Previously he was a career officer in the Australian Regular Army for 24 years, with roles in operations, project management, logistics, training and many other areas of relevance to his work at TADNSW. The staff and Board of TADNSW would like to welcome Alan into this new role and are looking forward to this exciting new phase for the organisation. |

A Special Visit from Bourke
Fundraising
Bourke Gibbons OAM with niece and TAD Fundraising Manager Melanie Gibbons |
TAD entertained a special visitor recently when Bourke Gibbons OAM came to have a look around our Northmead office.
Bourke is a local identity around Manly, where he sells pens to raise money for the Shepherd Centre.
He had recently expressed interest in supporting TAD's work and wanted to have a look around our office. It also gave him an excuse to visit his niece Melanie, who is also our Fundraising Manager.

Canada Bay Clubs lends a hand to TAD
Fundraising
The CDSE or Community Support Expenditure Scheme is one of our ongoing sources of funding. Government regulations require Clubs to put back a certain percentage of their poker machine profits into the community.
Canada Bay Club presents a cheque to TADNSW |
We met with them last week to talk about what we are planning to use the money for and to thank them for their support.

Freedom Wheels featured in Lions DVD
Freedom Wheels
Lions help promote Freedom Wheels |
Last year we had a film crew visit from Lions International who were interested in filming our Freedom Wheels Modified Bike Service in action.
The footage was to be used in a short DVD celebrating Lions Australia Mobility Foundation which works to fund mobility devices for children with disabilities.
The DVD was recently launched at the Lions Annual Conference held in Sydney and shown to the 15,000 delegates from all over the world.
