Greetings!
PictureOfDonLast issue I linked to a new video I uploaded to
Vimeo.  As of today, 40 people watched the video.  If there are any comments I would like to hear them, both good and bad.  If you did not see the video, you can view it here.

Some people have asked if I am seeing an uptick in the nonwovens industry.  It appears to me that things are improving.  Orders are picking up.  Since so many companies have operated lean for so long, are you prepared to train new employees?  Do you have the curriculum, trainers, and time?  If you don't contact Nonwoven Tools.

Have a great week.

Graphene For Nonwovens?

Graphene
Have you ever heard of something called graphene?  It has been around for a while, but never in quantity until now.  What does this have to do with nonwovens.  Oh, just that the researchers at Vanderbilt University have developed a way to make fabric super-hydrophobic or super-hydrophilic.  Can you think of ways that might benefit the nonwoven industry?  Here is the link.

Definition - Crush Cutting

CrushCut
Some time ago I did a definition on shear slitting, so I thought it was time to do one on crush cutting.  In the old days we used to call this score cutting.  I am not quite sure how the term was changed.  Anyhow, check the links below for more information.  Click on photo to go to CB Manufacturing.

Powerpoint Blogs

PwrPoint
While there are many programs available that do a better job of presenting training to our employees, most of us do not have access to that software.  So, we fall back on what we have which is Microsoft PowerPoint.  Things could be a lot worse.  PowerPoint is a great program.  The problem is that many of us are do not use it enough to become proficient.  The result is that our presentations, whether they be for business or training, suffer.  Here are a few blogs that you may want to follow to improve your knowledge of PowerPoint and how to effectively use it to instruct.

Most of us are users of the buyers guide available at the Nonwovens Industry Magazine web site.  I use it all the time.  Many of you may not know about the the buyers guide that Paper, Film, and Foil Converter has.  Now you know.
