A Winding Resource
Greetings!
PictureOfDon
I trust you had an enjoyable Thanksgiving.  Ours was especially memorable this year because in the middle of the night after Thanksgiving Day, my new grandaughter, Aletheia decided to arrive.  They always come in the middle of the night don't they? Mother and baby are both great.  It just gets better and better.

I found some great articles for this issue.  I hope you will take time to look at all the links and bookmark the ones that you find useful.

Have a wonderful week.

Needle Pattern
Having worked on hundreds of needleboards, I can tell you that there are many variations for the layout of the needles on the board.  Not only does each manufacturer of looms have their own preferences, but the needle layouts change from year to year and also between different loom models.  How do we know what is the optimum design for a needleboard?  It appears that Orlikon may have the answer. The following article tells about software they have developed to optimize needle board design for a given set of conditions.

Definition For The Week - Hump Magnet
JupiterMagnetics

Fiber systems have a vital piece of equipment that does not get much attention.  With no moving parts, the hump magnet never wears out and silently does its job day after day.  Many production operators either do not know it is there or do not know its function.  Maybe this definition will shed some light and encourage them to check it frequently for trapped metal.

A Wealth of Information
          FinishingTech

Last week I stumbled upon the website of Dr David Roisum and am I ever glad I did.  This man has tons of experience in winding and he has made available a great deal of information on his web site. His is the type of site where you can spend an hour just getting acquainted with all that is there.  It is to his credit that he has made so much information freely available.  Plan some free time so you can go to his site and browse.  Here is the link.  You may also want to visit a blog he writes here.

Thanks for supporting Nonwoven Tools LLC.  Don't forget about our other company Omega Engineered Technologies LLC that does needling and needle board repair.

Sincerely,
