Training That Works - Teaching Adults

What teaching methods are needed to teach adults? Here ae some good ideas I have come across as well as some links for further study. - The primary need in adult education is for relevancy. Adults want to learn something they can directly apply to their job or life. They are use oriented.
- Adults need to be treated with respect and have their opinions considered. If they think you do not care, you can be sure they will not care to learn from you.
- The older an adult is, the more life experiences and life knowledge they possess. Take that into consideration when teaching. Draw them out, but you must control the discussion
- Adults are more self-directed than young people. Teach them in a way that includes self study.
