Greetings!
PictureOfDonThis is year two for Nonwoven Tools.  I am looking forward to an exciting and productive year as are we all.  I received an e-mail on December 30 announcing that the purchase of the Hollingsworth manufacturing assets by Trutzschler had been finalized. Scroll down to see an article about this.

Are you installing new equipment this year?  Perhaps you will be hiring new employees to get an existing production line back into operation.  Whatever the case, proper training will improve uptime and reduce waste.  Nonwoven Tools LLC is ready to help with your training needs.

Term Definition - Scray
ScrayEvery nonwoven line makes rolls of fabric.  Some lines have to stop the winder to doff the fabric while others have high speed winders with automatic doffing.  For those winders that have to stop, a method is required to accumulate fabric while the winder is stopped.  One type of machine that does that is a scray.

I always recommend that you print the weekly definition on a color printer and place it on the tables in your canteen.  Here is a link to an inexpensive plastic stand that will protect the page from food spills and make it easy to read.
Hollingsworth Trutzschler Deal Completed
Wednesday, December 30, 2009

Louis P. Batson Company is pleased to announce that today American Trützschler concluded their purchase of key manufacturing assets of John D. Hollingsworth.

American Trützschler will establish card wire manufacturing at their Charlotte, North Carolina, facility.  A newly created facility in Greer, South Carolina, which is just outside of Greenville, will house their specialty roll and special applications workshop.  American Trützschler will employ many former Hollingsworth employees at the Greer location.

Naturally there will be an interval to work through to re-establish card wire production on the equipment coming from Hollingsworth.  Therefore, Trützschler's German wire manufacturing facility has committed to meeting immediate wire requirements.  To that end, we would need to gain your wire details and advise what we can offer from Germany.

The Batson sales team is now completely ready to assist you with all your card clothing needs.

EDANA Translation Dictionary of Terms

For those of you doing work internationally, or if you have workers that speak other languages more fluently than English, EDANA has a listing of nonwoven terms in several common languages.  It is an Excel file and I have downloaded it to my site at this location.
