Greetings!
PictureOfDonWow, time for a little breather.  In the USA we are celebrating Thanksgiving this week.  It is an autumn feast and a time for families to gather together and thank God for the blessings of the year.

This has been a difficult year for many and we are often occupied with problems.  At Thanksgiving we remember the good things, the things that really count.  I am thankful for a great wife, seven wonderful children, and good health.  Take a few minutes to reflect on the good things in your life.  Count your blessings.

I firmly believe that if you are not moving forward you are going backwards.  You cannot stand still and expect to prosper.  This weekly newsletter has been published every Monday for 39 issues.  I hope you have seen a steady improvement.  I want it to be better.  I want it to be more relevant to you and to meet your needs.  I have some ideas, but I am open to suggestions.  Will you please take a minute and compose an e-mail to me as to how I can "kick it up a notch"?

Most of the readers of this newsletter are located in the United States.  Perhaps you are not familiar with EDANA which is the European Disposables and Nonwovens Association located in Brussels, Belgium. Since being founded in 1971 in has evolved into an organization with a global outreach.

I had not looked at their web site in some time and was pleasantly surprised by the amount of training information there.  It will take you half an hour to effectively peruse their site, but it is worth it.  You will definitely learn something you did not know about nonwovens.

Definition of the week - Infrared Heat
Infrared
Heating fabric is very common in nonwovens.  It is done to drive off water, bond fibers, and prevent fabric from distorting.  There can be many sources of heat including steam, hot oil, natural gas, and infrared.  This week's definition will help production employees understand what infrared heat is.  For more information you may want to investigate further on Wikipedia at infrared heater
