Greetings!
PictureOfDonHow do you keep up with training for your production employees?  Do you know what they know, or do you just assume they know all the ins and outs of properly performing their job?  What training records do you keep and can you put your finger on an employee's training record easily?  If you are honest, you probably are not doing a good job.

Even if you are keeping accurate records of training received, could you quickly produce a list of everyone certified on a specific piece of equipment or everyone that is current with CPR training?  The only way to do this is with a computerized training database.  Years ago I realized this and went to the trouble to write an easy to use database application to keep track of training for my employees. Now that I have formed Nonwoven Tools, I am able to market this practical tool to you at a very reasonable price.  To learn more, click on the link and send me an e-mail.           E-mail to Don
NEW VIDEO ON THE WEB SITE

Since the article came out in the October Nonwovens Industry magazine on page 42, I expect more activity on my web site.  To introduce myself to new, prospective customers, I have changed the video on the home page.

Dfinition for the Week - Density Gauge
Traveling Gauge
One of the most significant additions to nonwoven machines over the years has been the ability to determine in real time the weight and profile of the fabric being produced.  This is done with a non-contact device that uses x-rays or nuclear radiation to measure the density of the fabric. Software then creates a graph showing the profile of the fabric from side to side and a histograph of the weight throughout the roll of fabric.  This information can be used to manually adjust the machine, but the newer, sophisticated machines relay this information to controls that automatically adjust the fabric weigh and profile to maintain them within preset limits.
