Greetings!
PictureOfDonThese are difficult times not only in the nonwovens industry, but in every industry.  What are you doing to insure the your company survives and you keep your job?  I think a lot of it boils down to how I am making myself better every day.  As I get stronger the company gets stronger.  What new skills am I learning?  What motivational and technical books am I reading?  What new computer programs am I learning?  What new things am I learning about the nonwovens we sell and how they are made?  Would I hire myself to work for my company if I was the HR Manager?

I am concerned about training production employees, but production employees do not get this newsletter.  Production employees rely on you to be motivated to help them become what they should be.  Are you doing your job?  Do you care enough about them to take time to teach them?  I hope you do.  If your company is lacking orders and production is slow, it may be an excellent time to schedule additional training.  Have a great week.

Dfinition for the Week - Gearbox
Gearbox
Sometimes a piece of machinery is so common that you forget about it.  Such is the case with this week's definition.  Gearboxes are everywhere in our nonwoven plants yet many production employees do not know what they are let alone how they work.

Webinars
Webinar
Have you ever attended a webinar?  This is a relatively new concept of presenting real-time lectures over the internet.  Usually the presenter gives a couple weeks notice so you can sign up and mark the event on your calender.  On the day of the webinar you log in and participate.  Most webinars allow you to post questions during the lecture.

Unfortunately, many of us cannot take an hour out of our busy schedule to listen to a webinar.  The good news is that many webinars are archived and can be listened to at your convenience.  Nonwovens Industry has held several webinars and they are archived at this location.  http://www.nonwovens-industry.com/webinars  You have to register before listening, but that only takes a minute.

Thanks for supporting Nonwoven Tools LLC.  Don't forget about our other company Omega Engineered Technologies LLC that does needling and needle board repair.

Sincerely,
