Greetings!
PictureOfDon
I like to give a compliment when something strikes me as being especially good.  I recently had the opportunity to install a piece of LaRoche equipment.  European manuals are not always as understandable as they should be.  The manuals with this machine were very clear and complete.  The drawings did an excellent job at showing the construction of the machine and could be used in an overhead presentation or a computer presentation.  Good job LaRoche.

Definition for the Week - Stretch Machine

A important part of a needlepunch production line is the stretch machine.  This piece of equipment comes after a needle loom and is used to tie the fibers together tighter after they have been needled.  It also provides other functions and you can read about it in the definition.

Middle of the night problems

If you have been in the nonwovens business for several years, you know that process problems can reoccur and when they do it is often at 3 am.  Suppose you solve a problem with bad edges coming out of the crosslapper.  How is the operator 6 months later going to know what to do to solve the same problem?  I just happen to have a very simple, inexpensive, and nifty computer program written in Microsoft Access that will collect information and make it available for problem solving.  If you are interested in getting rid of the 3 am phone calls, send me an e-mail or give me a call.
