Conversion Update
medfx logoAfter several months of "fine-tuning" the data conversion program, we are finally ready to begin migrating PDS clients over to our new MEDfx billing software.  The first 5 practices will be converted on July 1st, with others to follow each month until all clients have been successfully transitioned to MEDfx by this time next year.
 
We will soon begin contacting practices scheduled for an upcoming conversion in order to arrange web-based training sessions on the appointment scheduling and other key features of our MEDfx software.  We're certain that you'll be impressed with the modern design and capabilities of this powerful new billing program.
Did You Know?
Last year PDS relocated its servers to a colocation facility (data center) in Kearny Mesa.  Formerly a General Dynamics facility built to Department of Defense specifications, our state-of-the-art data center provides extensive security features including biometric hand scanning, keycard access control, and digital video surveillance 24/7.  It also incorporates multiple redundant systems including:

  • Internet access - 9 Tier 1 providers, 3 Fiber providers
  • Power - 2 SDG&E substations, 3 battery backup systems, 2 diesel generators
  • Fire suppression - dual systems
  • HVAC - primary plus 2 backup systems

How Are We Doing?
 
For more than a year now PDS has been engaged in a major overhaul of its internal billing and collections processes.  Our objective is to take advantage of exciting new technologies and also to address the challenges presented to our clients every day by the insurance industry.
 
Our latest efforts include the introduction of online eligibility verification, daily rejected claim monitoring, and online credit card payments.  Using these tools, our clients are seeing significant improvement in the areas of preventable claim denials and a reduction in patient account balances.
