Expressive Painting and Life Coaching Co-Active Life Coaching is about discovery, awareness, and choice. It's a way of effectively empowering people to find their own answers by encouraging and supporting them on their path as they continue to make important choices. This workshop begins with a brief discussion about the process of discovery and allowing yourself the freedom to access your inner guiding forces. About an hour of discussion will be followed with expressive painting which is a wonderful mechanism to release your intuitive inner passion. This workshop is a personal journey in a safe environment and requires no artistic ability or painting experience. The result is an exciting release of energy, exhilaration and new found clarity. Elisabeth Vismans is an Award Winning artist living in Maryland. She was born in the Netherlands and shortly after she moved to the States in the summer of 2000 she started her art career. She then started her Co-Active life coach business and began to look for ways to integrate art and coaching. Jan. 21 - Less Idle, More Wild 5k Snowshoe Race
(10 a.m. - 1 p.m., Hideaway Park)
The race series kicks off with a 5K event that starts and stops in Hideaway Park. This race, part of the weekend-long Winter Park Winter Carnival, includes two laps heading to the old Poma chairlift at the scenic site of the former Idlewild Ski Resort. In honor of Grand County's "100 Years of Grand County" six-week Winter Sports Carnival, prizes will be awarded for best dressed, oldest snowshoes and biggest snowshoes. Lunch will be provided to participants. For everyone, there is a sledding party with hot cocoa and s'mores, a snow sculpture exhibit and a parade in the evening.
Feb. 11 - Hill Climb Classic
(4 -7 p.m., Winter Park Resort)
This is a tough hill climb from the base of Winter Park Resort to The Lodge at Sunspot at the top of the mountain. The payoff is worth it - not only do snowshoers get a sense of accomplishment, they will also be rewarded with a chili dinner and a party at the lodge. Plus, the panoramic views of the Continental Divide are well worth the effort!
April 7 - Adventure Snowshoe Race
Part obstacle course, part snowshoe race, this event will challenge even the most warrior-minded individuals. After completing the course, everyone 'wins' with a huge bonfire, music and adult beverages to celebrate.
Register for all 3 races and be entered to win a $500 Winter Park Fraser Valley Key Card
