Members- $246

DR, Nonmembers: $256
NR, Nonmembers: $266

This rate just includes the fee for Step 2 of obtaining your SCUBA certification.  Please refer to information listed below for a full explanation of the steps required to obtaining a SCUBA certification.

Step One: Knowledge Development (Independent Study)
The Knowledge Development portion of the course develops your familiarity with basic principles and procedures such as: how pressure affects your body, how to choose the right gear and what to consider when planning dives.  This involves INDEPENDENT STUDY using one of two options, the PADI eLearning or the PADI home-study materials.  Click on the link provided to decide which option works the best for you: PADI eLearning or PADI home-study materials.

Fees
  • eLearning- $120
  • PADI Home-Study Materials- average cost is around $100 based on the option you choose

The fee to register through FVMRD does not include this section of the course.  The purchase of either option can be done at your convenience, but Step 1 MUST be completed before the start of first classroom session on Friday March 18.  Since this portion of the course isn't affiliated with FVMRD the cost is not effected on membership with FVMRD.

Step Two: Confined Water Pool Dives and Classroom Sessions (Conducted at the GPCRC)
This will be the portion of the course that will be conducted at the Grand Park Community Recreation Center on March 18-20.  During this portion, you'll develop basic scuba skills.  You'll learn how to set up your diving gear, clear your mask of water, hover and share air.  You'll also do somersaults, handstands, fly underwater, make new friends and have fun playing underwater.  The skills learned in the pool will prepare you to dive in the open water.  In addition, you'll spend some time in the classroom with your fellow divers, learning about diving equipment, additional diving opportunities, and more.

Fees
  • Members- $246
  • DR, Nonmembers- $256
  • NR, Nonmembers- $266
This is the fee that will be required upon registering for the course through FVMRD.  This fee does not include the fees related to Steps 1 and 3.

Step Three: Open Water Dives (5 Different Options)
After your confined water dives you, and the new friends you've made, continue learning during four open water dives.  This is where you'll have fun putting it all together and fully experience the underwater adventure.  You'll repeat many of the same skills you learned in the Grand Park Community Recreation Center pool, only this time they'll be performed in the open water.

Because your pool skills have been mastered and the academic material is fresh in your mind, we recommend that you complete your open water training dives soon after completing your last pool session.  We have five options from which to choose.  Each option includes the four training dives need to obtain your certification.  Click the link to view the different option and opportunities that A1 provides: Open Water Dive Options.

Fees
Ranges in price depending on which option you choose.

The fee to register through FVMRD does not include this section of the course.  The purchase of this portion of the course may be done at the participant's convenience as long as it falls within the guidelines set by the course.
Since this portion of the course isn't affiliated with FVMRD the cost is not effected on membership with FVMRD.
