Welcome, Stacy Segal, Caitlin Simkovich & Aletheia Wittman |
Beginning June 1st SAF will have an all new staff and, as retiring Sydney Dobson said, "SAF is lucky to have these fun, smart, highly capable and very nice professionals leading the way forward."
Stacy Segal
Stacy comes directly from the Seattle YMCA where she has worked in partnership with hundreds of dedicated volunteers and staff through a major $5.2 million capital campaign and four years of annual campaigns which raised $225,000 - $400,000 each year. Prior to moving to Seattle, Stacy spent time in Chicago taking on all aspects of development for various social organizations. In addition to fundraising, she brings experience with programming, community partnerships, marketing and setting vision for volunteer and member initiatives. Stacy also happens to have a personal interest in architecture and design and has traveled to a variety of landmark buildings throughout the U.S. and Europe. She is looking forward to meeting SAF's dedicated volunteers and experiencing the programs they develop and deliver.

Aletheia Wittman
Aletheia joined SAF in April just weeks before our previous Program Director, Dan Mahle, left to manage his fast-growing nonprofit, The Art Affect. She has a variety of work and volunteer experience with arts and cultural non-profits in the Pacific Northwest. She has recently worked at the Women's Center at the University of Washington as their grant writing and development assistant and as an intern for the 4Culture Public Art Department on education and outreach projects. Aletheia brings to SAF her fresh experience working on her MA from the University of Washington Museology Program where she has researched art curatorial innovation and museums of arts and culture focusing on community engagement and participation.

Caitlin Simkovich
Caitlin, who joined SAF in early February, was introduced in the March e-newsletter as SAF's first Administrative Assistant. Caitlin has fulfilled already the promise she brought to her position from her extensive nonprofit experience in NYC and Pittsburgh.
Thank you, Melora & Sydney. The Board of Directors is most grateful to Melora and Sydney for their service to SAF.
Melora Hiller brought her extensive nonprofit experience to SAF in January as its Interim Executive Director. She took a fresh look at the organization's operations and helped the Board's Executive Committee determine what was needed most from the next ED. Both Staff and Directors are grateful to Melora for completely her task so successfully with the hiring of the new ED.
Sydney Dobson retired as SAF's executive director last December. She has been working through the transition to make sure new staff have what they need to keep SAF's programs running smoothly. She will celebrate her 30th year leading nonprofits on May 15, the day SAF's new ED, Stacy Segal takes over. Sydney started working for SAF on January 2, 2002. Her work with the organization will end May 31 but we are grateful for her many contributions which will continue to benefit SAF.
