Back to School, Day Out With Thomas, Quilt Events + MORE! 

  

The Back to School issue is on streets, online and via ebook NOW featuring an exclusive preview of the Crystal Lake Service League's Housewalk, Annual Dining Guide and lots of features on activities, athletics, the arts and more for kids! 

 

It's a favorite for kids of all ages - A Day Out With Thomas  at the Illinois Railway Museum in Union kicks off Friday through Sunday, as well as next Saturday and Sunday. The day includes a ride on Thomas, Sir Topham Hatt, clowns, puppet and magic shows, live music and more!

 
Friday Lucy's Comedy Cafe (at Raue Center) presents Bryan Cork and Tom Clark. Sunday, McHenry County Living is proud to co-sponsor iconoclastic combo Blues Traveler at Raue Center.    

 

Take the family Saturday evening to Blast on the Beach in Crystal Lake and enjoy music, entertainment for kids, games, treasure hunt, face painting, beer and food vendors and bags.

 

Friday and Saturday is an exciting Northern Illinois Quilt Fest event Quilts of Valor Exhibit & Under My Wing in Huntley featuring quilter and author Marianne Fons, a large exhibit of Quilts of Valor, quilt and food vendors, raffles, a boutique and a salute to veterans. Sunday during Quilt Appraisal Day at the McHenry County Historical Society in Union, Sandy Schweitzer, AQS Certified Quilt Appraiser, will appraise quilts for a fee that will benefit the society.

 

Next Wednesday and Thursday is Woodstock Auxiliary Book Fair at Centegra Hospital - Woodstock.

  

Sunday is  Living History Open House at Powers-Walker Homestead: 1850s & World War I at Glacial Park Conservation Area.  

   

Habitat for Humanity Golf Classic takes place Friday at Boone Creek Golf Club in Bull Valley and includes a cash bar, dinner and silent auction.  

 

The First Huntley Art Fair on Saturday and Sunday takes place in the perfect park setting in the shadow of historic downtown Huntley.

 

Saturday, The James Bus Tour in Algonquin commemorates 150 years since the Civil War began.

 

Saturday, Kroozer's Cars for Kids set on the Woodstock Square benefits the Youth Service Bureau of McHenry County.  

 

Help support a great annual music event Friday at the Harvest Fest Fundraiser at Stage Left Café on the Woodstock Square.
