Outdoor Events Tonight after the McHenry farmers market at 7:30 p.m., the McHenry City Stage Band, directed by Michael Bazan, will be returning for one addition performance and will feature several vocal selections by Maureen Christine at Veterans Memorial Park.
Saturday at 5 p.m., Good Guys vs. Good Guys Charity Softball Event features the team of McHenry Police Department Chief Bill Brogan and his all-star team of Police, Fire and City personnel take on the Good Guys team of managers of the McHenry Christian Fellowship Softball League. Food, pomp and circumstances and a GREAT competitive and spirited game for your enjoyment. The sole benefactor of the game is FISH of McHenry Food Pantry.
Saturday at 10 a.m., the grand opening of the Lost Valley Visitor Center promises indoor and outdoor fun at Glacial Park in Ringwood. Celebrate the
Grand Opening of Lost Valley Visitor Center with exhibits, tours, hikes,
informational booths and more! Situated on the glacial moraine overlooking the
Nippersink Creek Valley and the Lost Valley Marsh, the Lost Valley Visitor
Center will serve as the gateway for the start of a day's adventure!
Arts & Entertainment Saturday and Sunday, see "Guys and Dolls" presented by Green Room Theatre at
the Cosman Theater in Huntley. This weekend, discover the magic of
'Mozart... and More!' during Mozart Fest when pianist Jeffrey Swann penetrates the depth of
Mozart and Chopin through his own stirring interpretations. Don't miss
the chance to see this collection of masterful works performed by a
professional ensemble of national and international artists in the
intimate setting that is the Woodstock Opera House.
Family Fun The ever-popular Day Out With Thomas begins Friday at 10:30 a.m. and runs Saturday and Sunday, as well as August. 21 and 22.
Health and Wellness
Hearthstone Senior Fair, an annual
tradition for thousands of McHenry County seniors, will take place next Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at McHenry County College in Crystal Lake. This expo
of services, products, information, fun and entertainment geared toward people
age 50 plus. Fair activities include health and wellness screenings,
exhibitors showcasing products and services geared toward seniors, music from
the Vito Buffalo Orchestra, and new this year, McHenry County celebrity BINGO.
At Centegra, when women come in for a mammogram, they
receive heart-healthy chocolate and a long-stem rose from Locker's
Flowers in McHenry. In addition, they can enter for a chance to win
