LITH's Ribfest begins today!  | Another Exciting Weekend in McHenry County!
We're
ramping up for another full-filled weekend in the county. Be sure to
make it out to concerts in the park in Cary (Thursdays at 7 p.m. at
Lions Park) and Crystal Lake (Tuesdays at 7 p.m. at Main Beach). We'll
be there giving away free summer issues. We'd love to see you!
My family is planning on checking out Lake in the Hills' Rockin' Rotary Ribfest again
this year. Yep, we're self-proclaimed "ribbers" over here and love sampling
those sticky, spicy and sweet slabs. Also, I am looking forward to
seeing the band Gin Blossoms Saturday night at the fest, which ruled
the alternative radio waves when I was in high school! Good memories!
Whatever you choose to do this weekend, be safe and have fun!

Swing at the Raue
Friday, don't miss Big Bad Voodoo Daddy at 8 p.m. at the Raue, a fun band that kicked off the
swing revival in the mid-'90s with a fusion of classic American sounds from
jazz, swing Dixieland and big-band music and appearance in the film "Swingers."

Next Tuesday, don't forget to check out Concerts in the Park 7 p.m. at Main Beach Bandshell where Juke Box Band will be playing Rock from '50s-today. Get your free issues of MCL at this fun weekly event!

 Sidewalk Sales/Lunch & Dinner in the Park in downtown Crystal Lake
Today through Saturday is a bargain hunter's delight with something for everyone on the streets of downtown Crystal Lake! Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Gregory B will be the featured musician during Lunch in the Park (Depot Park at Woodstock &
Williams). Later at 5 p.m., Dinner in the Park will feature the music of
local legend Dave Sarkis. At these events, guests are invited to bring their own meal or purchase one from one of Crystal Lake's wonderful downtown restaurants. Food vendors will be
available on-site.

Rotary Ribfest in Lake in the Hills
Today through Sunday,
join LITH for Ribfest - four days of unbelievably delicious, mouth-watering barbecue, as
well entertainment, including live music and fun for kids on the beautiful
grounds of Sunset Park in Lake In
the Hills. The Gin Blossoms headline Saturday night's concert.

 Heritage Fair 2010 - "Magic Summer!"
On Sunday at the McHenry County Historical Society, have some old-fashioned fun at Heritage Fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Enjoy the popular barbershop quartet The Clef Hangers, magicians, quilt bed turning demo, pie
baking contests, cake walks, blacksmithing, books, antiques, plants and more! Admission is free. "The James" mobile museum will be open and food is available. Residents of the Village of Union will be holding garage sales throughout town. |
