As Lambton County's lead economic development agency, the Economic Partnership's strategic plan is designed to guide the direction of our area's economic growth.

It is an ambitious focused program geared to strengthen existing industry, attract new industries that are growth oriented, enhance and support entrepreneurs and innovation, and strengthen existing infrastructure. It will promote and support the development of a sustainable community economically, culturally, socially, and environmentally.

The strategic plan was created over the past year with input from Sarnia-Lambton's key corporate businesses, elected officials, small business, local residents, and other external partners and stakeholders.

We are pleased that Mr. Doug Legge, VP of Global Operations for Solutions4C02, is able to join us to speak at this meeting. Solutions4C02 has selected the Bluewater Energy Park in Sarnia as the location for its global headquarters. The company is developing a demonstration facility, with plans to build a full scale commercial plant at the Bluewater Energy Park. Solutions4C02 plans to process waste gas/water streams into high value added co-products ranging from nutraceuticals and pharmaceuticals to specialty chemicals.

We hope you are able to attend this important meeting, and join us in helping shape the economic future of Sarnia-Lambton.

There is no cost to attend. To aid in planning the meeting we ask that you reserve your seat.

Please reserve your seat by April 16

BioAmber already planning to expand Bioindustrial company BioAmber has announced that it is already moving forward to expand the biosuccinic acid plant just about to start construction in the Bio-Industrial Park Sarnia.

Executive VP Mike Hartmann noted at last week's international bioindustrial conference, held in Sarnia, that the company's successful scale up of technology to make a bio-based chemical to be used in spandex has guaranteed the expansion of the new manufacturing plant from one phase to two.

The choice of Sarnia for the location of this biosuccinic acid plant is a strong endorsement of the area's push to establish itself as a biohybrid chemistry cluster.
