Ministry group tours Bio-Industrial Park Sarnia

Ministry staffers visit Sarnia-Lambton  Two weeks ago a group of staffers from Ontario ministries representing economic development, energy, and agriculture joined us for the Sarnia-Lambton Biohybrid Chemistry Cluster Tour.

The group learned why Sarnia-Lambton is becoming known world-wide as a location for bio manufacturing and research. The Bluewater Energy Park owned by TransAlta, and Bio-industrial Park Sarnia owned by Lanxess were just two stops on the fast-paced two-day tour.

The group learned how our petrochemical industries and the unique infrastructure that supports them, combined with our robust agricultural base, have created an ideal environment for the growth of biohybrid chemistry.

The Bioindustrial Innovation Centre at The Research Park Sarnia-Lambton provided a look at their state-of-the-art labs. The group learned that bio-based products can be brought to market at this national commercialization facility.

A tour of our Oil Heritage District provided a fascinating living link between our past, our present, and our bright biohybrid future.

Manufacturing Technology Network Conference  The Research Park Sarnia-Lambton is the location for this November 3rd conference. Learn how industry and research are adapting to the challenges of today and tomorrow through innovative solutions.

Co-sponsored by the University of Western Ontario and McMaster University. In addition to aerospace and automotive, sessions on smart-grid technology and oil refinery optimization will be featured. Click here to learn more.
