Bio-base industries use renewable feedstocks (such as forestry and agricultural crop byproducts and animal waste) to manufacture value-added chemicals; replacing those made from fossil fuels.
We make it easier to be green. Known for years as a global chemical and refining centre, Sarnia-Lambton was a logical choice as the location for Canada's Bioindustrial Innovation Centre. Located at the University of Western Ontario Research Park, Sarnia-Lambton Campus, the Bioindustrial Innovation Centre houses North America's first biotechnology labs and shared pilot plant facilities. Companies working to commercialize "green" products can access wet labs and work with scientists and researchers at the Centre to help bridge the gap between research and the marketplace.
