Annual STEPS Event A Huge Success with Over 300 Attendees
Charleston Atlantic Presbytery STEPS 2012: In the Name of Jesus was held Saturday at the Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church. What a glorious day it was! We could not have asked for better weather as over 300 Presbyterians from 30 churches in our presbytery gathered for worship, fellowship, and faith formation. Please take the opportunity to say thank you to the fabulous planning team of Jane Bullard, Martha Trussell, Julia Royall, Amie Waldeck, Leslie Williams, Susan Mellichamp, Philip West, and Mary Robinson. The gracious hospitality of the Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church staff, session, and congregation made the event possible. Thanks to all the workshop leaders and participants who took to heart our theme's Scripture verse, "Let every detail in your lives, whether speech or action, be done in the name of Jesus, giving thanks to God through him." (Colossians 3:17)

Are You Using the Correct CAP Email Address??? Two years ago we updated the presbytery's website and chose a new domain. Along with the change to the website, we also changed all of the staff email address. For two years, we had the old addresses forwarding to the new addresses, but have now ended this service. Please check your address book and confirm that you are sending emails to staff members at capresbytery.org.
If you have any questions about this process, don't hesitate to contact Cheryl Glenn, the presbytery's Director of Communications. |

Presbyterian Pilgrimage Weekend: A Time to Renew Your Faith -- October 4-7, 2012
The Message by Peterson translates Matthew 11:28-30:
"Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you'll recover your life. I'll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me - watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won't lay anything heavy or ill fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly."
Does this sound like you? "Tired, worn out, burned out?" Then the Word
may be calling you to Presbyterian Pilgrimage, a short course in Christianity. This three-day spiritual weekend is designed to strengthen your faith, give you a sense of purpose and a new commitment to Christ, and allow you to impact the environment in which you live, worship and work.
And what better place to be closer to Christ than at Camp Saint Christopher on Seabrook Island? It is the ideal place to begin that renewal. You will meet new friends and enjoy incredible food for both the stomach and for the soul.
Adair McCoy, a committed layperson, has been called to be the moderator of the October Pilgrimage. He, his spiritual advisors and all the staff will be there to help you get that sense of purpose to which Christ invites you.
If you would like more information, please contact one of the individuals below or visit our website at: http://www.scpresbyterianpilgrimage.org/. Participant applications are available online or from the individuals below. The cost for the three day weekend is $315. Needs-based scholarships are available, on a limited basis.
Contact SC Presbyterian Outreach Chair Diane Dunham at (843) 873-7404 (dwdunham@sc.rr.com) or SC Presbyterian Pilgrimage Registrar J. C. Simmons at (843) 871- 3944 (jsimmons14@sc.rr.com).
