Presbyterian Pilgrimage Weekend:
A Time to Renew Your Faith - October 4-7, 2012
Pilgrimage
Do you sometimes have times when you feel you need to renew your faith and spend some quality time with the Lord? Then the upcoming Presbyterian Pilgrimage October weekend may be the answer for you.

Presbyterian Pilgrimage, formally Presbyterian Cursillo, is a three day spiritual weekend
designed to strengthen the faith of individuals, and through them, to impact the
environment in which they live, worship and work. And what better place to be closer to Christ than at Camp Saint Christopher on Seabrook Island! It is the ideal place to beginthat renewal. You will meet new friends and enjoy incredible food for both the stomach and for the soul.

What can you expect from a weekend like this?
One participant wrote afterwards:

"I felt invigorated...but it's really much more than that. I felt, for the first time in a very long time, that Jesus really does love me. He knows who I am and is watching over me 24/7. He wants to have a personal relationship with you, and you don't even have to ask; He is always there, watching over you. Not joining in that personal relationship no longer made any sense at all."

If you would like more information, please contact one of the individuals below or visit our website at: http://www.scpresbyterianpilgrimage.org/. Participant applications are available online or from the individuals below. The cost for the three day weekend is $315. Additionally, needs-based scholarships are available, on a limited basis.

Contact SC Presbyterian Outreach Chair Diane Dunham at (843)873-7404
(dwdunham@sc.rr.com) or SC Presbyterian Pilgrimage Registrar J. C. Simmons at (843)871- 3944 (jsimmons14@sc.rr.com).

Presbyterian Heritage Tour

of South Carolina and Georgia - April 8-12, 2013

CTS Sponsored by Johnson C. Smith & Columbia Theological Seminaries

While the low country was being developed as the home of large rice and Sea Island cotton plantations, the upcountry was being settled by Scots-Irish, many of whom were Presbyterian. They would bring their hardworking and frugal ways to upcountry farms and would later be leaders in the economic development of the South.

Travel with Erskine Clarke, Professor Emeritus of American Religious History and author of Dwelling Place: A Plantation Epic, to country churches and cemeteries on the mainland and Sea Islands. Join us to explore former slave markets, historic homes, and gardens in all their springtime glory. And then travel with us "upcountry" to Columbia, SC, to visit The Robert Mills House, former site of Columbia Theological Seminary.

Please register by November 7, 2012. Contact Barbara Poe, CTS, 404.687.4566 or Maria Bryson, Johnson C. Smith Theological Seminary, 404.527.7781.
